Smoke will make them a lot less aggressive. Try using a strong smelling disinfectant like around the column itself, not directly on the nest or them. Maybe the scent will motivate them to move.

You could put insecticide in the soapy water too I guess

nervewrecker wrote:I sure as hell not going out there to light no fire in no bucket. Has nowhere to run too

but the soapy water wont kill them right?

Soapy water will kill bees and wasps. In fact, it kills any insect that is sufficiently coated by blocking the membranes that allow the insect to breathe.

Wasp killing sprays are about 0.25% cypermethrin or similar. You can buy it in a spray can that shoots a stream about 20 feet. You can also mix your own and put it in a compressed air 2 gallon sprayer or similar.

If you don't want to kill the wasps, you need a smoke can and bee keeping gear. Smoke the nest, put it in a plastic thrash can with a lid, then move it. The wasps will abandon the nest.

I tend to see a lot of wasps and 50 or more stings per year for me is about average. Many on the same day.

So why you tell them the property is not yours?

A Product called WaspFreeze works exceptionally well, its oil based which coats and sticks on contact, its in a pressurized can which can be applied from 20ft away...bought it at Alied Hardware, also saw it somewhere in chagunas.... only thing it leaves a bit of a mess.

Guys, anyone has a contact for people that come and remove bees in the Southlands?

Having some bee issues in recent times and the solution has been eradication on the grounds that they can't find anyone to remove the bees.

Any help is appreciated.

The regional corporation does that. Contact them, they should respond. I think they have bee keepers on contract just for this. After the visit you have to sign some paper certifying the visit on your property and removal. Couple of months ago some bees decided to hive on my mailbox so I called the Chaguanas Corporation and someone called back within 1/2 hour and came.
