I bought a car some years ago from a chain smoker.
I went to a car wash/car care shop, just outside Chaguanas.
When you leave Chaguanas and drive (heading south) as if you are heading towards Chase Village side through the Old SMR, the place is just after the traffic light on your right.
I think I paid $400 back then for a steam clean of the interior.
Scent was totally gone.

For Toyota Vehicles-Remove ac filter and with ac on spray a deo. with antibacterial capabilty into evaporator intake and allow to circulate through all vents.This ensures all possible mold and algae build-ups in the system (which actually harbour odours and unhealthy bacteria) are neutralised.
This process is best done after having the general internal environment properly cleaned.
Remember most of us run our ac in recycle mode and stuff entrained in the internal atmosphere find their way into vents etc. which are really damp zones.
Clean ac micro filters are a must and locally these need to be change once per year at least.

parents had fish in my car a couple of weeks ago.....car smelled fishy ( no pun intended)
what i did was i parked car in garage rolled up all windows boiled some vinegar in a pot (cover it ) when it boiling i removed it from the stove placed in car and remove cover and close door.

left it there overnight next morning the car smelled slightly acidic fish smell was gone- the vinegar smelled like ole fish.. just drive with the windows down to remove the acidic smell....
