Did anyone watch the debate?

Quite entertaining, Desantis did a little better than I expected. Vivek stole the show with some of the best lines, but got hammered a lot by everyone (he is their biggest threat).

Christie was a bit of a disappointment, others were ok.

Pence was utter sheit

Yeah I watched it, and i agree it was entertaining.

Pence is usually convincing but on stage... nah.

Doug and Ada not making it.

I like DeSantis a LOT. He held firm in the debate, and he normally makes dems look like fools but I think him running for president was premature.

I like Tim Scott over Vivek funny enough but he lacks magnetism. Needs to spruce and spice up his presentation skills. Vivek was on fire and clearly he's a threat as he was the target instead of DeSantis.

Chris Christie is kix especially that ChatGPT comment on Vivek. The thing is he's more like a suicide bomber. He may take down a candidate or two then himself. He's the anti-trump candidate so left media suddenly like him which is expected. If he stays in the race, more than likely the last to give up.

Nikki Hayley held her own but the "get past" and "move on" from trump tactic not going to work as most republicans already want him as the presidential nominee.

Meanwhile Trump and Tucker killed it on X, 200M+ views and counting.

Vivek needs to explain his policies though, they are quite out there and obviously no one wants more war but giving up on Ukraine and Taiwan is a risky stance, and then sending the military to fit Mexican cartels....I can see the logic but that's not going to win votes.

“Palm Beach County lawyer files legal challenge to disqualify Trump from 2024 presidential race”

“Boynton Beach tax attorney Lawrence Caplan filed the challenge in federal court in the Southern District of Florida citing the amendment’s “disqualification clause” for those who engage in insurrections and rebellion against the United States. …

“But constitutional scholar Kevin Wagner said invoking the amendment to kick Trump off the ballot is an endeavor that faces significant legal, constitutional and political hurdles.

“‘There’s a legitimate argument that one can make surrounding the plain wording of the 14th Amendment and the accusations of what the president did on Jan. 6,’ said Wagner, a professor of political science at Florida Atlantic University. ‘But I think it’s a harder lift than people think and at the end of the day you have to find someone that’s willing to enforce it. …

“Caplan’s filing asserts that Trump’s actions on Jan. 6, 2021 violated the amendment and asks that he be barred from seeking the presidency and from appearing on the ballot in Florida’s 2024 presidential primary next March 19. …

“Caplan’s challenge is among the first 14 Amendment-related objections lodged against Trump in a federal court. However, discussion of the 45th president’s disqualification has surged in the past week. …

“FAU’s Wagner agrees that the 14th Amendment may not require Trump’s conviction on any charges for it to be invoked.

“‘What makes it tricky is it doesn’t say you don’t have to be convicted. It just says you have to engage in it,’ he said.

“Nonetheless, despite the cacophony of constitutional chatter, Wagner said he thinks applying the 14th Amendment to Trump will be a challenge because of the scarcity of legal precedents.

“‘The problem here is that there is no real case law, there’s no dominant interpretation that we can all look at and agree that this is how it is done,’ he said.”

Watch a trump rally and you'll see why, like him or hate him, or think he's stupid.

Truth is he knows exactly what to say, how to say it and how to get a reaction. It is a different kind of charisma.

It's his optimism and the fact that he thrives of making his base happy.

Vivek is another guy who is very different but shares a lot of these qualities, but far more articulate, likeable with an abundance of confidence.

That team of Trump and Vivek will probably win by a landslide in the US.

Once again, Vivek Ramaswamy goes on the record to say that what he said on the record is not actually the record of what he actually said.

Hannity grills Ramaswamy on Israel

Fox News host Sean Hannity pressed Republican presidential primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy about his foreign policy stances during an interview Tuesday night, honing in on his views on Israel.

“I want to go over some of the issues though. You know you said, aid to Israel, our No. 1 ally, only democracy in the region, should end in 2028, and that they should be integrated with their neighbors,” Hannity told Ramaswamy during an appearance on his prime-time program on Fox.

“That’s false,” Ramaswamy responded.

“I have an exact quote. You want me to read it?” Hannity countered.

“That’s actually … I can tell you the exact quote. What I said is it would be a mark of success if we ever got to a point in our relationship with Israel if Israel never needed the United States’s aid,” Ramaswamy said. “And, Sean, you know how politics is played. A lot of the other professional politicians who have been threatened by my rise have used that statement to say that I would cut off aid to Israel. That’s not correct.”

The Fox host pressed Ramaswamy on whether he understands “how important that alliance is and how important the intelligence factor is.”

“I understand it, I think more deeply than probably anybody in this race I’ve traveled to Israel. I have business partners in Israel,” he said. “The reality is this, by the end of my first term, our relationship with Israel will be stronger than it ever has been because I will treat it as a true friendship, not just a transactional religion.”

Ramaswamy made the controversial comments about Israel in an interview with the Washington Free Beacon earlier this month.

So what's the point? He misquoted Vivek and then Vivek explained his position more clearly. Seems to be a lot of preoccupation with Vivek on both sides right now, often with little substance.

If they want to go after Vivek, use his climate change stance and his view on Ukraine and Taiwan sovereignty and western protection, those are far more controversial, though he has explained and rationalised his Taiwan and China viewpoints to seem more reasonable, they're still irresponsible.

Ramaswamy met his match.

Almost legendary interview by Mehdi Hassan.

Ramaswamy should have avoided this one.

Also it doesn't change the fact that Ramaswamy looked like an idiot.

This is the first time that I have heard of a person losing a second defamation case for repeating the same defamatory statements after losing the first defamation case.

There is so much evidence Trump is not going to beat Biden.
The defeats of a majority of his endorsed candidates at the House and Senate level even in usual safe R seats should be enough to convince the GOP Trump is toxic. MAGA alone can't win a national election

First of all, that isn't evidence. It maybe be one indicator, yes, just like polls. Also political situations are fluid and a number of things can change.

Lol there's no evidence of anything other than this is going to be an even tighter election than 2020 and the GOP definitely have more support now.
