You mean lapping?

Know a few guys who did it to their core 2 quads. Takes some time but the results are worth it (in some cases/so they say).

Dunno about cpus but the bases of some heatsinks could do with a lil polishing.

I think some Thermalright heatsinks had noticeable curved bases which benefitted from the lapping procedure.

I have the old school G15.

Never used the macro keys though, just really cared about the key lighting.

I have a stock heatsink from a AMD X6 cpu, the bottom was hella pitted with a million deep grooves and a dark oxide layer
Lapped it and got that mofo to a near mirror finish, all I got locally from bhagwansingh's was 1500b sandpaper and 1500 from a hardware

If I got a higher grit it wud have been flawless :(

^ I think it still going on until Monday 10a.m.
It was the first time I played it so I wasn't sure of all the modes/rules but it still wasn't bad.
Also they have a bundle deal (Left4Dead 1&2) for Usd$7.49 expiring in less than 16hrs, and few other deals too.

I pirate my games first and if I like em i'll buy them especially if it's a multiplayer game.
BTW
You can't talk about piracy on the forum meng....it's against the rules...

The new most wanted looks pretty cool btw....another Assassin's Creed will be out soon as well

I have the first AC on steam a while now, haven't played it yet though.

Will buy some stuff for steam christmas sale this year.

I buy games on steam and origin.

Mostly for the automatic updates, rewards and multiplayer really.

Had the first AC on my older desktop.....HDD got corrupted though.
I still have it on a DVD but I never bothered to reinstall it. I completed Revelations over the summer and it had a bunch of flashbacks from the first AC so I kinda know what the first one is about now

Your board is good. I don't think that you'd need to upgrade your entire system. Try and see if you can source a Phenom 1045t/1065t. It would be nice if you could get the 1090t though...try looking on ebay. You can Upgrade the CPU and still go with the GPU upgrade and save the extra money.
BTW if you want to run a multiple GPU setup...you're gonna have to upgrade your board but it's not necessary. With the GPU and CPU upgrade you're good to go with just one GPU and not having to swap out your board :D
You should checkout this card instead btw
http://www.amazon.com/XFX-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-FX785ACNJC-FX-785A-CNJC/dp/B0083GA9WM/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1350839621&sr=8-7&keywords=ATI+7850

You can add 4GB more to your existing RAM to make up 8GB or upgrade to faster memory if you want. Corsair has a Dominator 8GB Dual channel kit for about 50US and they perform really good.
Your board Supports up to 16GB of RAM...so if you can afford it i'd say go for it :D
Currently using the 8GB kit...planning to go 24GB in the future :D

Good points here.
My upgrade recommendations are these:

http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Phenom-1045T- ... enom+ii+x6

$115.51US

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-SUPE ... ds=gtx+660

$230US

http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technolo ... +ddr3+1600

$70US (optional)

The board fine as is. I had the model like his with crossfire capability and was able to get a 1090T up to 4ghz easy/stable.
The 1045T should reach 3.4GHz with just an FSB adjustment.

Thanks for the input, but as always I'm thinking it may actually make sense to upgrade to what I posted based on the price differences.
