So this was a small accident at sapa. The pds reversed into the pcs. She got out and didnt even bother looking and went on her way.
By time I got back the pcs had left, probably not even realising they got hit as it was dark.

That is why they are called bumpers......

The parties probably thought that their vehicles stopped against the curb divider

Cyclist killed on PBR

A cyclist was knocked down and left to die in the car that struck him after the driver abandoned the vehicle.

According to police, the incident took place along the Priority Bus Route near Eddie Hart Grounds, Tacarigua last evening. The cyclist smashed through the windscreen due to the impact and was pinned between the dashboard and the front seats. Gruesome images of the mangled body began circulating on social media last night.

Up to press time, there was no identity for the deceased. Officers of the Arouca Police Station are continuing investigations.

Sometimes you can try to feel sorry, but some people will always be stupid until they die.

A 38-year-old woman is dead following an accident in Central Trinidad on Saturday.

She has been identified as Jewel Proubom of Chase Village.

According to reports, at around 1:15 am, officers from the Central Highway Patrol Unit responded to a fatal road traffic accident involving a white station wagon.

Initial eyewitness reports indicate that the vehicle was proceeding northbound along the Uriah Butler Highway when the driver lost control in the vicinity of the Caroni Police Surveillance Bay and crashed into the cable barrier and flipped several times.

The occupants were thrown from the vehicle and landed on the road.

Driver, Jewel Proubom sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene while passenger Rakesh Seebarack of Longdenville sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Mt. Hope Hospital.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is expressing its concern over the fact that this is the fourth road traffic death in recent times, where a driver has been thrown from a vehicle in a collision, suggesting a lack of seatbelt use.

It said in all of these accidents, the vehicles occupant compartment remained intact indicating a high likelihood of survival if the drivers and passengers were restrained in the vehicle.

The TTPS Road Safety Coordinator Brent Batson is urging drivers and passengers to always wear seatbelts in vehicles, not just to comply with the law but for their own safety.

Batson says research shows that persons ejected from the vehicle in a crash have a 75 percent chance of death upon bodily impact with the road.

“That’s not a chance, it’s a guarantee,” he added.

Batson added that 75 persons have lost their lives on the nation’s roadways for 2018.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent Traffic Branch, Basdeo Ramdhanie is warning motorists that Highway Patrol Units will be commencing a high visibility enforcement campaign along all the nation’s highways as part of an initiative to increase compliance with road traffic laws and save lives.

Gruesome pics

Still can't understand people driving without seat belts especially on the highway. When you practice it often enough it should become a routine/habit. To me it so ingrained I start the car to come out my yard and put it on, then need to take it off to go close the gate.

2018 people wake up!
