Gunmen storm KFC Maraval

Gunmen targeted the Maraval branch of KFC last night.
The incident took place at about 10.45pm at the Saddle Road Branch, police said.
Three persons were said to be at the establishment when two men entered armed with firearms.
The suspects announced a hold up and attempted t to rob the establishment.
One of the victims ran into the manager office and locked herself inside.
The suspects then assaulted the other two victims demanding cash.

A policeman broke into a supermarket, dressed in his uniform, and stole $10,000 and the DVR but was still caught on camera.

PC Wayne Pierre has been taken into custody by his colleagues at the Carenage Police Station after CCTV footage showed him breaking into a Chinese Supermarket using a grinder.

The officer allegedly stole $10,000 and the DVR, but he wasn't aware that he was caught on CCTV footage that was backed up remotely.

Pierre, Uncutt News Media understands, moonlights at the Supermarket so he was aware of its weaknesses, where the DVR was located, and the cash.

The incident happened along the Western Main Road in Carenage overnight.

Pierre has approximately eight years of service and was last assigned to the Emergency Response Patrol Unit.

After the break-in was discovered early this morning, the police were notified and the owners, to their surprise, while reviewing the backed-up video, recognized Pierre as the suspect.

Investigations are continuing into the incident.

US citizen robbed, stripped naked on Nelson Street after meeting stranger

A 25-year-old New York man was robbed of his cash and rental SUV when he went to visit a stranger, he met on a mobile dating app on Tuesday night.

Police said the man drove to Upper Nelson Street in his MG SUV, at around 7.30 pm and parked the vehicle near the apartment buildings.

He then met a someone who identified themselves as being the person from the app who led him through an alley where he was confronted by five men who beat him and stole his cellphone, bag containing $300 cash and his US credit cards.

They also stole the keys to the SUV.

The bandits stripped the man naked before driving off.

The man ran along Nelson Street where he was helped by passersby and made a report.

Officers of the Besson Street police station later found the vehicle abandoned on Picton Road, Laventille.
