Electricity has come long way from the 80s with frequent black outs to one of a more consistent supply in the urban areas. You use, you pay.

Water however I would be very adamant about increases as that one has seem to have gotten worse and no matter what you use, you have to pay.

Which one is the more desirable utility?

I also don't approve of Peter paying for Paul and Paul paying for all. Cut those bad payers forthwith!

ELECTRICITY RATE INCREASE REVEALED

Your home electricity bill is now set to increase from between 15 to 64 per cent following a recommendation by the Regulated Industries Commission (RIC).

And you will now be charged monthly instead of every two months, the RIC has recommended.

In addition to this a fixed customer charge on your bill will now increase from a maximum of $6 every two months to now $7.50 monthly

Commercial customers will also see an increase.

T&TEC will have to inform customers of changes to the rates 21 days before it is implemented.

RIC executive director Dr Michelle Salandy made the highly anticipated announcement a few minutes ago during a press conference held at the La Boucan Room of the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre.

Over the past year, the RIC reviewed T&TEC's business plan for 2022-2026 and held 15 public consultations across the country, leading to these rate recommendations.

T&TEC has not had a rate increase in the past 17 years.

The RIC regulates the delivery of services by T&TEC and the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).

LGE election passed, so they doing it now. I'm calm, I've done all that I could thus far, short of running on generator power.

Batteries expensive snd don't last.. Neighbor have one and by 10pm it stop.
Could modify it to add more batteries to last the night... But might as well pay the rate increase
