a hydrometer or even better, a refractometer
Test kits - ammonia, nitrates, nitrites. if you going reef then you'll need additional kits - Alk, Cal & mag

but ryan, allot of people fail to do actual reading and learning about the corals, fish and how to keep salt water stuff, and they just jump into it thinking its real easy. It is when you follow the rules though and take your time.

First thing to consider is your budget. You have to do some research first and decide what you want. There are allot of good brands that will do the job. Going cheap brand going to get you more stressed out.
Well you have the tank which is the main thing, you still need these other things. some you may not require

*Lights - LED's, HO-T5's or Metal halides. - Prices vary $3000-15000
*You can either use a sump with overflow box rated for your size tank, 2 good hang-on filters or a canister filter. - prices vary
* Protein skimmer $900-4000
* Powerheads $300-4500
* Return pump $$800-2500
* Chiller (all depends on what you want to grow and/or where your tank is. $7000-8500
* Sand $500-600
* Salt $100-150/ 50 gal bag
* Water - either you buying water or buying a RODI unit $2000-3000
* Live rock - 100-150lbs @ $20 per lb.

Everything is based on your budget and your preference of brand & quality.
Your likeness of fish might not be mine, also not all fish are compatible with other fish inverts and/or corals (meaning not reef safe). Also you tank will not be able to keep fish that grows big.
What kind of fish are you interested in and do you want corals

Thanks alot man....i was just thinking off a few clownfish(nemo type) but after seeing them prices i go stick with freshwater...lol...

LOL, Yeah UZi Tech,
I was accustomed to having a koi pond that I use to just vacuum the gravel every month....then I went to a 100gal saltwater FOWLR and now Reef tank.
Its a BIG jump in terms of maintenance care and overall knowledge but definitely worth it to me. You should also remember those costs HONDA listed, most of them are 'one time buy' meaning you rarely have to upgrade your skimmer, change sand, rocks, chiller, powerheads, pumps etc.

Right now my main maintenance costs are for salt mix, fish food, 2 part solution (for corals) and that adds up to about 1300-1400 every 3 - 4 mths.
Time is another thing lol, takes time to do water, tests, change water, clean glass, clean skimmer etc. but when you into it and get addicted lol it becomes a normal scene.

Its a GREAT hobby, I spend hours looking at my tank and its NOTHING compared to other people's tank. (Honda tank bess btw lol)

if its only clowns and no corals you good still. you don't need no big set of lighting, get some resun power heads $200-300, get a good hang on filter is under 350. might not need the chiller. I have a FOWLR 75gal running on a canister filter and small cheap skimmer..................... no chiller, and it running 3yrs & 6mths now. It has 3 clowns, 3 damsels, a tang and a French angel.......................no big expensive setup. you can make a hood and run about 3-4 of the T5 bulbs. One of the bulbs are about $150 each.

the red snappers die out with the brooklynella, one of the mutton snappers jump out and i release the other mutton lol, the deepwater snapper species really fragile.. better off leaving them where they are.
