Kamla could try and blame the ILP for the PP's loss and the PNM could boast how much they want about their victory having sprung forth from some sort of "re-engineering" of that party. While both positions may have an element of truth they are largely hogwash.

According to a caller on one of those talk shows: "people was just fed up of the tata." The PNM 'won' (and I use that term loosely) by default, just like the PP did back in 2010.

But after watching those graphics of the distribution of the regional corporations by winning party, it does give one the impression that the electorate has once again voted on 'tribal' grounds.
