Henry Kissinger, War Criminal Beloved by America’s Ruling Class, Finally Dies

The infamy of Nixon's foreign-policy architect sits, eternally, beside that of history's worst mass murderers. A deeper shame attaches to the country that celebrates him

On January 1, 2024, after almost a century of copyright protection, Mickey Mouse, or at least a version of Mickey Mouse, will enter the United States public domain. The first movies in which the iconic mouse appeared – Steamboat Willie and the silent version of Plane Crazy[1] – were made in 1928 and works from that year go into the public domain in the US on New Year’s Day 2024 https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/mickey/

The first flight of what is now known as Air Force One landed in Trinidad as the first ever stop in 1943. It was carrying FDR to the Casablanca Conference, Morocco.

Any aircraft carrying the sitting President of the USA is known by the callsign Air Force One. That term was only used since 1952 with Eisenhower though.

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/14/this-day-in-politics-january-14-1097690
In crossing the Atlantic in a Boeing 314 Flying Boat dubbed the Dixie Clipper, Roosevelt became the first president to travel on official business by airplane. At the time, FDR was a frail 60-year-old chief executive, with little more than two more years to live. He was persuaded to make the arduous 17,000-mile round trip by air because Nazi U-boats remained on the prowl.

The top-secret presidential flight took more than four days to allow for refueling and rest stops. Although transferred to the U.S. Navy and designated C-143, a civilian Pan American Airways crew piloted the huge sea plane. To begin the journey, the president traveled to Florida on special train. The flying boat took off from the Pan Am terminal in Miami, touched down in Trinidad and then continued down the east coast of South America to Belém, Brazil, before arriving in Bathurst in British Gambia.

Now that was a legendary calm, soothing, professional voice. Haven't listened to radio for many years, but it's an indelible memory from small. Wade Watley. He is part of the old school radio establishment in Trinidad.

You know that scene in the film The Abyss 1989 with the rat forced into the breathing liquid? Well I just found out that that was real life. It was a real take by James Cameron and that rat was real and it was really "drowning." The liquid is called oxygenated fluorocarbon fluid so it worked just like they said. It's real! That movie still blows my mind.

They still haven't used it for human saturation deep diving though because they have not worked out a scrubber circulation system to remove the Carbon Dioxide within the liquid exhaled by the lungs. The saturated CO2 fluid would just build up in the lungs which are made for expelling air.
