Xbox Live Fall Update Arrives November 1

Image

The Xbox 360's dashboard will get an overhaul for the second time on Monday, November 1. That's when the big Xbox Live fall 2010 update, complete with Kinect support, will come to Microsoft's console.

Microsoft confirmed the release date today via e-mail, telling Xbox Live members the mandatory update will "enhance the interface, navigation, and responsiveness" of the Xbox 360, as well as adding new features. Those new features include the addition of Zune Music and ESPN programming to the dashboard. In addition to an update graphical interface, the fall 2010 update revamps Avatars and adds search capabilities to Netflix.

Video of all those new changes in action can be seen in our video feature of the fall update. A list of less noticeable changes to the Xbox 360 was highlighted by Microsoft last month.

Microsoft expects the mandatory update—you won't be able to access Xbox Live without it—to take five to ten minutes to install.

funny u say this cuz i find this true also. alot of ppl have also said it. I have a padna who won a 100mb connection for 3 months from flow and he says he usually cant tell the difference between his 100mb and a 5 or 10mb.

Thats sad. Even tho u dont ever really get the full 100mb, it usually fluctuates around the 85mb area..the results still not as impressive as one would have thought.

well at that sort of speed would only be noticable when there are multiple computers using the internet, streaming multiple movies, downloading content etc..

u expect webpages to open fast? and what you should look at is your ping

had their 10mb connection when it was just 2 and 10 and 15.. i will stick with the lowest package.. the only time u ever get true speeds of your package.. save the 5mbit is at 2am... you will get near the estimated but never the max. and ping.. it's the same throughout

i looked over that game and treyarch seems to have done a pretty decent job an its a lot better than mw2...making sure you get your kill legit

no one man army, danger close, commando.. no stopping power.. killstreaks you have to get on your own.. and shot guns are primary now

scavenger only replenishes ammo and leathal grenades and nothing else..

only concern i have about the game from what ive seen that could be stupidly annoying is that rc car and some of the equipment but luckily scavenger doesnt replinish equipment//

they pushed me from 15 mb to 25 mb
and yeah, there is a difference. but as someone said, you wont notice it by browsing the web on one computer.

Its great for downloading - as long as you have a good download accelerator (like DTA for firefox), you'll be pulling stuff down at full speed

50 mb and 100 mb is useless to people who dont do heavy HEAVY downloads
I wont even know what to do with all that bandwidth.

someone here woke up and found their porridge missing this morning...

16 tuners in various iterations of sports cars blazing down turn 12 in suzuka about to cross the start/finish at near 200mph on your friends list and you won't be one?

I feel the same, very annoyed with both Sony and PD for releasing numerous launch dates they can't stick to, but all in all I want the best experience when it drops. Online multiplayer better be the schnizit, did they ever mention server hosting?
