Australia look better than first game....Ghana has not been impressive. Good goal by Australia and good to see that Ghana keep scoring their penalties.

Anybody else think that red card on kewell was a tad harsh? I mean it was a rocket of a shot and in all fairness he didnt raise his hand toward to ball, it kinda deflected off his chest an onto his arm as the slow motion replay showed.

I think a yellow card and a penalty may have sufficed, but the red was harsh IMO.

Anyway... go GHANA!!!

Ghana wasted possession too often with shots from 40+ yards out that weren't even on target. Exploit the advantage of the extra man and work the ball inside and they could've won probably.

And wtf, how is Muntari not starting?

World Cup 2010: France forward Nicolas Anelka could be sent home after swearing at coach Raymond Domenech - report
19 Jun 2010 13:59:00

Reports emanating from France Saturday morning underlined the scale of the rift in les Bleus’ camp, with Nicolas Anelka’s angry and very frank exchange of words with coach Raymond Domenech at half-time in the recent Mexico fixture the culmination of weeks of tension.

France Football states that with les Bleus tied 0-0 with el Tri after 45 minutes, Domenech gathered his troops in the dressing room at the interval, but Anelka was not impressed by what the coach had to say. Domenech “firmly but politely” told ‘Nico’ that he was to stop dropping deep from his centre forward role, or else he would be replaced.

“Go f*** yourself, you dirty son of a b****,” the Chelsea ace is reported to have replied.

“Ok, off you go,” Domenech said to the striker, who was by then already making his way to the shower.

The newspaper added that a disciplinary meeting will take place on Saturday afternoon to decide Anelka's fate, while RMC has reported on Saturday morning that the forward could now be sent back home prematurely.

The Chelsea forward missed training with the French squad on Saturday fueling speculation he will be sent packing.

But the former Real Madrid striker was not the only France player to respond unprofessionally on Thursday. David Astorga, a journalist with TF1, tried to interview William Gallas on the field after the Mexico defeat, but the out-of-contract Arsenal centre-back gave him what the French call ‘the finger of honour’.

how unfortunate - an entire country and thousands of fans worldwide have to suffer because of a disagreement - i hope when they head back home - they fire that coach cause they already loss the world cup and squandered their chances

i hope France know they could still qualify.. plenty ppl thinking URG/MEX will just want to draw... to ensure qualification, but I doh think Mex will want to settle for a draw..knowing that would mean they would have to most probably face ARG next.

Anyhow, in other news.. Congrats to Holland ... they are now the first team to qualify to the 2nd round :)

Like d big sides should just play another big side and done because d small sides proving much harder to break down than a lot of people think. Everybody want to top their group to play the easier side but like is just to play the top sides and done.

italy dominated that game but the fighting spirit of these underdog sides is a force to be reckoned with. if it was not for the defender's stupidity giving them a penalty and that barely missing shot at the end, new zeland could have won it. in short though ....UDFR ITALY!

Yeah that was a silly foul to give, but that good. It does have too much holding and jersey pulling in the box for set plays and corners. Time to punish players for that sheit.
