As Lex Luthor leaves the series, two new villains are announced.

May 2, 2008 - While it had been known for awhile that Michael Rosenbaum was leaving Smallville, it has now been confirmed by the studio. A statement from the CW, Warner Bros and the Smallville producers states:

"It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Michael for the past six seasons. He is one of the best actors on television and has never failed to bring a new layer to the character of Lex Luthor in every episode. While Michael won't be a series regular and we won't have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven't seen the last of Lex Luthor. Stay tuned."

Yup, Michael Rosenbaum (Lex) AND Kristin Kreuk (Lana) will not be returning as a series regular for Season 8.

From all indications, SE08 may be the final season (series finale) for Smallville.

SE07E20 "Arctic" Season Finale - May 15th.

Smallville SE08 returns in 2009.

Yeah the body mutilation and the stuff in the church was way out there. I'm surprised some group hasn't protested about - defamation, sacrilidge and that sort of thing. Yuh know how the US ppl and the Vatican sensitive.

In an interview with TV Guide, Smallville producer Al Gough reiterated that they are still stubbornly sticking with their "no flights, no tights" mantra regarding the show.

They established that rule at the very beginning of the series, wanting to differentiate it from other Superman shows that had come before and to concentrate on Clark's humanity.

Personally, I think it's time that they break the "no flights" half of that rule.

For SE08 there is a change in producers, so the "no flights, no tights" rule may also change. We wait.................

This episode was wicked...i enjoyed every second of it. This episode took smallville for a big turn, i even got a glimpse of the upcoming episode...Lex found clark Fortress. There will be a big Faceoff, can't wait.

Another thing, allyuh eh find that monk/ priest were a bit freaky????
