Businessman surrenders to police

Businessman Luke Hadeed today voluntarily surrendered himself for questioning in the ongoing investigation into the acquisition of two sniper rifles by the Strategic Services Agency.

In a shocking twist yesterday, this country’s Commissioner of Police Erla Harewood-Christopher, the former head of the sole intelligence agency Roger Best, the Chief of Defence Staff Darryl Daniel and Hadeed were all caught in a police net as key persons of interest in the ongoing probe.

Erla taken to the hospital after falling ill while in police custody

Commissioner of Police Erla Harewood-Christopher has fallen ill while in police custody.

She was being kept in a room at the St Clair Police Station when she complained of feeling unwell.

She was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Harewood-Christopher was due to be questioned for a second day today in connection with a long running investigation into how the Strategic Services Agency (SSA) came to acquire two sniper rifles, and who signed off on the documents allowing importation.

Harewood-Christopher was detained on Thursday at Police Headquarters within 24 hours of the detention of former SSA director Major Roger at his home in Arima after a warrant was executed there.

The express has been told that Harewood-Christopher is not being allowed visitors except her lawyers and her husband, Theldon Christopher, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police.

Whether she can return to the station later to be further questioned, is uncertain.

i don’t recall anything about “sniper” rifle mentioned
the only mention is automatic assault type weapons

and tbh a sniper rifle is simply a rifle with better quality barrel for accuracy and usually more stable or heavier for less shake
they are usually single bolt action

In making the order, Justice Nadia Kangaloo further declared there was a delay by the commissioner in deciding on the 33 applications and her failure, neglect and continuous delay to perform her duty was unreasonable and in conflict with the policy set out by the legislation, unlawful and illegal.
