One problem with those estimates is that it is not exactly clear what constitutes a Hamas fighter.

But the uk doesn't have that degree of immunity . They will be held more to account , and are trying hard to find ways to push the last colonial project , but still have plausible deniability ..

No it didn't. It started on May 15th 1948 when the Arab World decided they were going to demolish the newly established state of Israel. The Arabs lost that war and every one since. Some of them have moved on (Egypt, Jordan, UAE) whilst others still harbour a vision of an Arab run country where the Jewish nation now sits.
Its just been one L after the other for the Palestinian people because of that.
