Charging paused. Voltage too high - that has been popping up on my phone a lil while now (since monday). I googled it and the popular suggestion is that it's the usb port corroded/malfunctioning and needs repair. The other was the ICS update so a did a reset to gingerbread or whatever it was before and that eh do anything. (also considering rooting jellybean)

Idk who I can trust locally to try and repair or what that cost might be.

I'm back to using my BB (you must understand my pain here) since it started cuz it's not holding charge anyway. and bmobile is blocking the bb plan from working on my s2, so trying to use it eh making any sense at all. (monday was a really bad day for me)

If i can't get it fixed i'll probably will have to buy a new phone, which i rather not right now. especially since there are only two options.. the s3 which would be my first choice but idk if the same issue will occur in a couple months, or jah kno i'll have to buy an iphone which btw will be going against everything i stand for.

2nrs... any suggestions? things bad.. is a BB I using :(

Contacts in the USB port could be shorting, try using a dry toothbrush to clean it out and make sure that the center contact is not touching either side of port, if it is, use a toothpick or something similar to re-align it, its a common issue and sometimes just cleaning and adjusting works

If you do use a toothpick be careful not to break the pin.. Did that on my wifes s2 and now it can only charge but no data transfer on the USB.

not sure about prepaid but postpaid phones must be out of the contract for it to be unlocked.

Ok. HTC just moved the goal post...

Awaiting the GSM model.
Only area of concern is that 2020mah battery... :s
Otherwise, killer specs.

Why sell a 16 GB (12Gigs available to user) version of a phone without expandable storage with a 1080p screen with 441ppi and a non-removable 2020 mAh battery

Killer specs, yes, definitely, but the rest of the decision making is questionable

Advertising can't help there, not for smart consumers anyway

I am a heavy user. It is a pet peeve for me to have a phone with a dead battery. I take lots of photos, surfing, searching, gaming all over 4G. Car charger doesn't do it all the time as i am at most 1hr in car.
For me it is important.

not sure if posted b4...

Samsung in Last Development Phase for Flexible Screens

Image

Samsung is reportedly in the last phase of development for flexible screens, according to the Wall Street Journal. The new screens will use plastic instead of glass to create devices that are lighter and bendable. Most importantly, they won’t crack! (Goodbye, spider-webbed displays.)

Samsung has been working on these displays for a long time now, and it’s likely that the company will have new phones with plastic screens as early as the first half of next year. With the competition heating up, the company definitely needs to get it out there as soon as possible. LG has a Liquid Crystal display version that it is trying to get to market, so Samsung is pushing ahead to make sure it’s the first company to the finish line.

Samsung is relying on its OLED technology to make flexible screens a reality. Currently, the tech is used in Samsung’s top phones, but the company is still using glass surfaces on those devices.

Nobody’s saying how much Samsung is investing in the technology, but the company can afford it after a stellar year of sales. The Wall Street Journal reported that Samsung’s third quarter profits surged 91% from last year’s number to approximately $6 billion. (Even if the company has to give Apple a billion provided the lawsuit doesn’t work out, that’s still a boatload of cash.)

Why Flexible?
Several companies are working hard to produce the first flexible screens for a number of reasons.

Lee Seung-chul, an analyst at Shinyoung Securities said that, “The key reason for Samsung to use plastic rather than conventional glass is to produce displays that aren’t breakable. The technology could also help lower manufacturing costs and help differentiate its products from other rivals.”

As the market only continues to get more competitive, differentiating points go a long way towards higher profits.

The first versions of flexible screen phones are expected to use the technology in ways we are already familiar with (i.e. normal phones, just more resistant to wear and tear). But we could see more creative uses of the screens. Whether it’s a small phone that rolls out a screen for a full sized device or a phone that could expand into a tablet, Samsung’s devices could really change the landscape — if they can get the technology to work on a mass-production scale.

Yeah i totally missed that when installing it

Battery life on wanam is way better than Omega IMO tho, but i find Omega runs a bit smoother in some instances.

On bmobile 4G my battery life is horrible on either ROMs, i lose %1 roughly every 10mins, however on WiFi i lose about 1% every 45min-1hr.

Disabled fast dormancy, tried different modems and kernels, nada :(

Is your phone entering deep sleep?

Get CPU Spy, see how much deep sleep you're getting, try while the phone is off the charger overnight, you should also try GSam Battery Monitor to see which apps are using the most battery and Better Battery Stats if you really wanna get down n dirty with regards to wakelocks

Issues was fixed, was a touchwiz JB bug with the media scanner. Downloaded "rescan media root" and disabled it. Also got rid of touchwiz, battery drain is now 1% every 1hr-1:30hrs on standby :D
