Samuels and Gayle was a liability to the team which management had enough time to see but chose to do nothing. Johnson Charles should have replaced Gayle

X 2. WI would have surely accelerated the scoring in the remaining overs.

This is why yankee sports often rely on a best of 3/5 series to decide
Not some stupid formula to makeup for weather

Again this is why Cricket needs tp change. T20 is the future of cricket. DL is outdated and irrelevant in the modern game where games swing in the matter of an over. One good over and we could've easily won... this isnt a test series... cricket needs to get rid of the DL method in this form of the game!

Very good point there RASC, the outcome of this game hav me very upset and depressed, was looking forward 2 celebrating a WI victory in Sunday's Final. Now i don't even care to look at the two remaining games... still proud of the guys tho.

i really do agree with u hoss

but what can we use in place of the D/W?

because i think we can only be judged on what was done up till the stop of play

anything else will be speculation or prediction and you cannot really take into consideration
IF they had a big over since its a 50/50 chance that it will or wont have a big over or 2

i thought they should have been better informed of the chance for the rain with the technology available
....seriously
the rain clouds wont form in 1 second and burst down.....i am sure they would be monitoring it atleast a 30 mins before and thats ample time to inform the teams so they could change their strategy or so

An incredible innings by Marlon Samuels propel SL to victory against WI, despite the DL, SL would have still won.

Samuel's innings was exactly what the Lankans needed to make it to the finals, selfish, stubborn, frustrating, wicked and evil, he plotted and plotted, padded and padded his way to occupying the crease, soaking up balls after balls, frustrating his team mates and forcing them to get out, yet he stayed put at the the crease, looking for every opportunity to run out his partner and refusing to give up the fight for SL and only a hale storm could have removed him form the middle. The SL were happy.

From a Sri Lankan perspective, he was Man of the Match.

Not to be outdone, the WI think tank, also did a splendid job in making SL victory possible. By their sheer fcuked up brain, they made sure, Samuels, in the worst form of his life for the last 5 games, was retained and he was sent in at the 4.

Good Luck to SL in the final.

Hmmm Samuels gone from hero in the last world cup to villain in this world cup. Everyone knew his batting form was off yet they persisted with him @ no.4, Bravo and Sammy should have come in b4 him. Samuel's bowling kept him in the team.

actually i was tellin everyone that DUE to the form he is in....Ramdin should have been at number 4
he can rotate the strike and hit the boundary, i sure he would have done better
keep samuels in number 6 and can be shuffled according to the situation...

India deserves the cup even if they lose this final. Walk through victories from the start.

I'm just saying that India played much better cricket than sri lanka, they are playing on another level than all the other teams, its pretty obvious. They couldn't defend 190 against england and scraped through on a quirk, but we all know unpredictable cricket is.
