Sometimes you may have an issue where the TV does not have the license to send DTS or Dolby signal out, it can process it but not pass it.
Was doing an installation about a year ago and for nothing the HDMI was not passing the multi channel audio from TV to the receiver (using an external source), in any other format but stereo. The problem was that the TV did not have the "permission" or license to distribute 5.1 or 7.1 through it.
keep in mind that optical does not have the bandwidth needed for HD audio that HDMI has.mero wrote:Think I'll go search for an optical cord today. RadioShack best option?
