Yeah basically the government operating under the findings of the Deosaran TTPS report. While they enacted some of the recommendations, the major ones that requires a majority in parliament to change some laws cannot be done because according to Rowley, the opposition withholding their vote and therefore, is the opposition fault that the country is in this mess.

To be fair to Kamla, she did not oppose all pieces of legislation that was brought to Parliament.

Kamla responds to Rowley: A poor carpenter blames his tools

Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, has hit back at the Prime Minister saying the government “is unable to operationalize and implement passed legislation due to incompetent personnel” at the highest levels in the Ministry of National Security and at the National Security Council.

Persad-Bissessar was responding to Dr Keith Rowley, who held a press conference on Tuesday morning at Whitehall concerning matters of national security.

“In his latest media conference, Rowley again failed to present a multidisciplinary approach to deal with the violent crime crisis that has overwhelmed the country. Instead, he directed irrational blame at the bureaucratic system, which by the way, is the same system that has existed for many years while the country was much safer and better,” Persad-Bissessar said.

She added, “The saying “A poor carpenter blames his tools” clearly applies to Rowley’s presentation as he continues to blame me, the UNC, the police, the former police commissioner, the citizens, parents and now the bureaucracy.”

She went further in questioning his support for Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher, saying, “His government also continues to support a Commissioner of Police who has not met the minimum standard of performance in any aspect of her important duties. No responsible leader who witnessed Erla Christopher’s national security JSC appearance would support her remaining in the office of commissioner of police.”

Persad-Bissessar said it is essential to note that the UNC has supported over 35 pieces of legislation in the last 9 years.

She invited the Prime Minister to meet her at the Anti-Crime Town Hall meetings which she says are non-political.

I agree that she doesn't sound as confident as GG or as intellectual as Williams. Frankly, she makes me wonder if she bought all her degrees. But we are currently experiencing a 30% reduction in murders. That is SoE kinda results. I cant say if it is a direct result of her work or not. But why the hate for her though? She is the only CoP in recent time that is experiencing successive years of reduction in murders. Why move her?

Is it that ppl want to hear Sheriff Gary but murders still increasing?
Or Reno 911 but the murders going down?
