guys apparently i like to take really close up shots is the 18 - 55 lens best, or what should i look to get? i like to really get close to flowers and insects.

Expensive option:
Get a 180 or 200mm macro lens. The 18-55 can focus closely, but you really will be frustrating yourself until you get a macro lens. I make do with my 55-200mm, but really need to get a macro myself.

Cheap option:
Buy any compact camera. Because of the small sensor and appature of compact cameras, they take excellent macro shots. You might just have to put something over the flash to diffuse it a those close distances. Will post some macro from my SD1200IS in a short while.

In the australian outback you see more "shooting stars" in one night than you see in trinidad in a year.

My wife an i have been duelin to see who can get a better photo with the Nikon, an i was doin better all the time, till she took a class on a field trip to asa wright an did this (i feel utterly blown away)
