^^just to note eh bro, the last three pics of the normal garden hose connections are a different thread pitch than the first two PVC standard threads eh. Both WILL NOT work for the same applications. What application do you want it for? Maybe some details can aid us in assisting you further.

have you tried expanding the hose with a heat gun? My heat gun saved me alot of running around when I was doing my setup. Made up all kinda weird fittings, and did all kinda bends. Once you get the hang of using it, u'll se the potential.

But more on the topic, you dont necessarily need a barbed end to get hose iinto. Once you put a good tight hose clip, it would not slip out. The pressure is not even half that of ur house water pump. The pressure is actually quite low.
You can use this (photo), stick a 3/4" - 1/2" inch reducer in it, then stick a small piece of half inch pvc, then get the hose around it, and tighten with a hose clip:

$350 and you can take all 18, most of them are full size already, I'm not interested in any trades, it's going to be a discus only tank

edit: fellas I need some advice, My 150 is fairly stable at 80 degrees, I need to maintain at least 84 for my discus, should I go with two 200 watt at each end, which one will be next to my outflow and the other next to my filter intake, or one 300 watt which will be next to my outflow.

tank is 5ftx2ftx2ft
heater ratings as follows

200: 79-106 gallons
250: 106-159 gallons
300: 159-264 gallons

you can go with the 2 of them (250's) so in the event that one should konk out, at least you will have one maintaining it for the time being.
