Can anyone explain the re registering of vehicle every 5 years?

You want the long or short answer? To make money for the GORTT of course. Why else do you have to PAY for a multi point inspection every year or two, and then have to PAY again every five to re-register?

...and 9 demerit points if you don't comply .

Which some dumb dumb in MOWT thought should be equal to the demerit points for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Driving a defective POS is just as bad as driving drunk......

Err, no. Speed, which is the main cause in the majority of accidents still only draws a 6 demerit points, AND that is if you are 31km/hr or more above the speed limit. Not advocating for defective vehicles to be allowed, just parity in the demerits given. Defective can be fixed.

Actually you would be surprised to know that majority of accidents are due to defects, driver inattentiveness, driver inexperience and driver error. Speed just gets the blame because a lot of times the accident results in serious injuries or death.

You've just named about 9 of 12 causes. Speeding is number one, followed closely by DWI. Much further down the last is weather.

Saw this on social media.
Person was given a ticket because the passenger in front was not wearing a seatbelt.

What does it cost to cart a passenger who wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, from the highway to the hospital...and then provide free healthcare until he recovers?

Well done.

^ i always tell my passengers (even in the back) to wear their seatbelts... but not wearing seatbelts is something that has been institutionalized in TnT and a good few times when u do so you being frowned upon or saying ubdont believe in the driver's technique... for instance when i take the bus route or p/h cars (if i running late for work or dont feel to drive) sometimes the driver does chastise me for putting on the front seat belt... so as i say it is something that is institutionalized and will take rime and more of these fees to correct... make no doubt about it though seat bels save lives

how much points does a shoulder driver get ?
They should get the most because they are willfully breaking the law.

Are these citations mailed (TTPost) to the offender?
And what if they don't get the mail? Because we all know just how reliable the TTPost is.

Is there an email system of notification?

Not yet, that will be for speed spot and red light cameras. Any tickets issued and printed on site will be handed over immediately

Don't care all these fvckers including all these big 5hit trinis, I hope they all get charged and build points to take away their permits.

Policing for profit may have some value after all .
