Slowly but surely. Appetite on 0 these past few days. Hoping I could resume gym from monday though. I don't have much muscle to lose.

thats kinda stupid bro.....

always give your injuries priority over your goals, you dont wana end up with a degenerative condition from carelessness and not seeing about a minor injury.

then again if a ligament is TORN i dont believe you would even be able to walk 100% far less to squat. So i doubt its a legitimate tear. When i have a torn ligament in my shoulder i couldnt even raise a 5lb weight....hell couldnt even raise my arm.

Proper Injury management ensures longevity which is what should be taken as the priority.

whey hey....why not, lol

Heavy Squats and deadlifts (up to 4 plates a side) without belt...is it advisable? Trying To build core strength

Belts are for additional safety, can never have enough of that Imo. It also offers a level of back support.

That's great! Progress is progress and that's good progress.

What have you been doing thus far to reach your goal?

What's your next step?

Why not drop some weight and really practise your form free weighting without belts, core strength is really dependant on your stabilizers making sure that your body stays in the proper position during heavy lifts. No sense in loading them beyond their capability to control until your core is rock solid.

Yup I was. Ended up having to drink a few gallons of rehydration salts. I'm better now though, will hopefully resume gym tomorrow after school.

It ironic how I started working out 2 years ago because my clothes weren't fitting my 38"-40" waist. Now that I am down to 32"-34" my thighs are very tight in my work pants (D2 Dockers). Plus as my shoulders are getting bigger, my shirts lie very high on my chest. Wear bigger sizes just makes my clothes look to big for me.

But say what, I still going to squat and lift big. :)

True , there are soo much variations of the squat for core / total body strenght you don't even need to go too heavy ... But yes if you intend on pushing the limits then a belt would be a safe bet
