A 31-YEAR-OLD St Augustine man is in critical condition after he was shot while dropping off a large order of doubles for someone in Arima on Wednesday morning.

Police said the man and a friend went to the car park of O'Meara Plaza in O'Meara Road, Arima, at around 6 am to drop off the doubles.

A grey Toyota Wagon drove up and a woman in a hoodie got out of the car and paid the men $600 for the doubles.

A man got out of the back seat of the same car and shot the delivery man in the chest before getting back into the car with the woman and driving off.

Arima police were called and took the wounded man to hospital, where he remains warded. Crime scene investigators found 20 spent shells at the scene

Arima CID are continuing enquiries.

SOLDIER RE-ARRESTED IN THE DEADLY PENNYWISE HEIST

A soldier who was initially detained, questioned and released following the deadly Pennywise La Romaine heist, has been re-arrested and is expected to be charged with 2 courts of murder along with a string of other offences.

• 24-year-old Regiment Private Ishmael Salaam was taken into custody on Friday 4 November, 2022 by ASP Mangaroo who investigated the incident that left two security guards and four bandits dead.

• FLASHBACK: on Monday 19th September, 2022, armed robbers ambushed and fired a volley of shots at the white pick-up van being used as a cash in transit vehicle by three security guards employed with Allied Security Services, to transport hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Pennywise Plaza La Romaine branch.

• The two security officers who died included 49-year-old Jerry “Bat” Stuart and 51-year-old Jeffery Peters were killed. However, 57-year-old Peola Baptiste survived.

• Two other people, a 47-year-old security guard from another company and a nine-year-old boy from Siparia, were also injured as a result of the incident.

• Moments after the deadly heist, brothers Kyle and Keyon Ramdhan, their friends Greg Doudough and Deaundre Montrose were shot and killed by police after seeking refuge under a house off Pond Street, La Romaine, following a chase after the brazen robbery/homicide.

• The robbers did not get a cent from the heist as they snatched the bags that contained receipts and the officer's personal items while the bag that contained the cash was pinned under the body of the female security guard in the vehicle.
