There are filters with opaque cannistersoriginalbling wrote:Our filter is on the line supplying the tanks but because its exposed to the sun and rain, it gets mossy quick.
What's the easiest way to stop that? build a covering with board? didnt wanted to used metal/galvanize cause of the heat transfer

Its a basic culligan that's been there for a while. Probably time for an upgrade too.
I actually need this to filter sediments as the aerator in all our faucets gets clogged pretty often with debris. But of course, if the option presents itself for cleaner water (and I can eliminate the cost associated with bottled water), I can look into it.nick639v2 wrote:Jerry84 wrote:Suggestions welcomed for whole house water filtration.
How clean you want this water??
Clean your tanks first then install filter on your main pump output line.
From cleanest(drinking/consumption) to just good enough(showers and no brown) I’ll recommend-
20” filters for whole house application or for kitchen or single room it can be downgraded to 9” filters
Cleanest - 3 stage- 20” filters (Woven, white, charcoal).
Mid- 2 stage- 20” (washable stainless filter, blown white)
Reg - single 20” stainless washable
If you want to make an investment you can get a Hayward pool filter housing for the main output to use even larger filter sizes that are paper or they have washable ones too as a single.
Larger the initial filter size investment is the greater times between filter changes
It will need constant monitoring tho as said before.
I currently do a 9” 3 stage for kitchen and single stage 20” woven filter for laundry and that’s it. washroom could get whatever wasa providing.
Water Source has the best prices, sometimes even cheaper than importing anything once they have stock

I have a 2200 total and a 2700 psi gas karcher....Jerry84 wrote:Wanted to know if anyone has experience with surface cleaners paired with electric pressure washers?
I have a 2200 psi TOTAL electric pressure washer and saw a video with the circular surface cleaner in operation. Realized that this will make my occasional pressure washing task become much easier.
Has anyone here used a surface cleaner attachment on the total electric pressure washer mentioned and had results? If yes which surface cleaner did you use. Any assistance appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Care to share the type of pressure washer and the surface cleaner?Dave wrote:I tried one specifically for electrics. It's like 11" diameter so takes longer but on 1850psi it does a good job.
It's a sunjoe or sometimes I use my Ryobi with a green works 11" surface cleaner.Jerry84 wrote:Care to share the type of pressure washer and the surface cleaner?Dave wrote:I tried one specifically for electrics. It's like 11" diameter so takes longer but on 1850psi it does a good job.

Similar issue. It could be either your decking or your tiles(clay tiles). Had a similar problem and it turns out the "cheap" tiles I bought from Tile Expressons in central was of a poor quality. Therefore my thinset remained adhered to the decking and released from the tile. But I've been told that if the thinset remains on the back of the tile when they raise up then most likely its caused by the concrete releasing dust due to poor mixture or poor aggregates.Wolfgang123 wrote:Tuners have an apartment building and in the upstairs front apt tiles are raising and cracking in some areas, had to tile over half the living room about 7 months ago
So the older tiles are raising.
Trying to figure out what is the cause because non of the other apts on the compound has that issue
It's worth a try in my opinion. Thanks for the knowledge.Rayden6 wrote:I cleaned my floor and mixed a Gal of polyV using a house broom painted the floor with it when dried, then mixed premium porcelain thinset with tile, no problem since 3yrs now
