Real Madrid are closer than ever to signing David De Gea ~ Marca

The £30m fee quoted is not bad either given he's one of the best goalkeepers in the game right now.

Nice to see Real Madrid prioritising their transfers

buy a young keeper to keep him on the bench and when the old No1 leave u buy a new keeper to keep that same young keeper on the bench another season.

Navas is young? I think he was 27 at the time we signed him.

In any case he was always going to be No. 2 after Diego Lopez was sold.

my bad, meant younger, I thought the intention was to have him step in when casillas leaves.

what does real Madrid really need in this transfer window?
a striker? a top striker wont want to come sit on the bench behind benzema. even tho I don't like Ronaldo, he is not going anywhere. we all know bale, isco and james are up to the task.
maybe a def midfielder for when modric and kroos need a rest or injured? you buy pogba? he is definitely not better than modric and technically kroos is better. I don't see room for big name signings except for a keeper and defender.

would like to hear some opinions on who will arrive.

If we can't get Pogba then Veratti is the next best thing, exactly the type of player we need; aggressive, hard-working, young, loves a physical battle and most important - a proper defensive midfielder.

Depending on how things go this transfer window we could line up like this come September

---------------De Gea----------------
Danilo---Varane---Sergio Ramos---Marcelo
---------------Veratti/Vidal------------------
-------Modric-------------James-------
------Bale-------------------CR7------
---------------Benzema----------------

Kroos and Isco might have to suck salt :x

These are my initial thoughts. I know benching world class players like Kroos and Isco sounds like madness but we already have a minefield of attacking players. What we need is grit and aggression in the midfield so the Veratti move seems a good one. Since then though reports state that Real Madrid have given up on Veratti so we could also look at Vidal. Ideally it would be Pogba but the price Juve calling for him is madness! The Varane/Pepe choice is subjective one as well and down to personal preference.

Hmm BBC reporting that Man United are gonna move for a want-away Sergio Ramos. As far as credibility goes BBC is right up there, they tend to report real news, no gossip

am fed up of this crap....every season it's a new player complaining....whoever wants to go can frickin' go....no player is bigger than the club and if you don't want to be here then leave....go follow in the footsteps of Ozil & Di Maria

am liking the new kits....simply and classy
