Was looking at the hobart 190 mig for us$ 677 its a 220v. Looks like a well built US made machine
Might cost 6-7k landed, not sure i want to put out that much as a learner/weekend warrior
https://www.amazon.com/Hobart-500554-Ha ... mig+welder

Some reviews says dont even bother with those 110 machines

What you guys think about this JEGS 180 mig 220v. price is attractive at us$ 339, but might just be a chinese sticker brand

There is also a Hobart handler 140.

Decent machine for the price. Goes for about 450

razrweld from SSL, thats another good option.

they have a impressive 110v/220v arc unit thats portable. My old welding teacher used to rave about it, he have one like 2 years now. Cheap too bad to purchase .

the mig should be good too. like 5k i think.

everlast supposed to be one of the better chinese inverter brands,
they have a representative on the weldingweb forums.

if buying a mig I would try and get a non-noname one as mig machines have a little more parts in them
where as a stick machine is just a circuit board which is why they all so cheap now.

Razorweld is an Australian marketed brand that's made by a Chinese company called JASIC.

They do quite a bit of OEM for many companies (including CK worldwide).

The machines are supposed to be decent.

SSL has a Makita SDS drill and angle grinder combo for $ 1500.00. Thing is they look like the Malaysian made units. No reviews online, but from what I've seen they carry only 12 months warranty.

Anyone used their "Made in Malaysia" tools? How do they compare to the regular line?

According to the part number, that is the Latin American version. It's made in Mexico or Brazil.

Makita manufactures worldwide but builds close to the market.

Thanks for the feedback. The choice is between that, the Milwaukee 5262 ($ 1400, SSL) and the regular Makita HR2470 ($ 1450, Allied Home Center). I would've jumped on it because of the combo but the lack of reviews has me a li'l concerned considering the type of job it needs to do.

I was looking at one for moving tree limbs after pruning. I really liked that you can use a cordless drill to power the winch. Is that price TTD or USD?

compare to a much lighter machine and buying electronic helmet

ebay inverter dc - $1000tt landed skybox weighs 12lbs vs 60lbs
chop saw locally - $1500
angle grinder locally - $500 mexican makita
harbor freight electronic helmet - $500 landed skybox

total less than $4000
money saved can be used to buy 220v extension cable, longer leads etc
