Remember years ago what he said about Ronaldinho???

Contrast that with Xavi's send off from Barca, different circumstances yes, but you think true Barca fans will even think about booing a man like Xavi?

Typical Perez thinking.. Watch and see ..spend 90million again.. And we wouldn't win one crap next season
We need a holding midfielder
Madrid worse than arsenal right now yes
Until Perez leaves Madrid will be the club that was never good enough for barca

Unbelievable really but this shouldnt surprise anyone, Real Madrid have a history of short lived managers. If a manager lasts two years he did well. Come December Rafa will be fired, and the cycle will continue as it always has

Perez is a joke... I personally think that the best option for RM right now is to appoint Unai Emery... any replacement to Ancelotti is a downgrade however... (Milan Fan)

Rafa Benitez named new coach of Real Madrid

Rafa Benitez has been confirmed as the new coach of Real Madrid on a three-year contract and will be introduced to the media at midday today.

The 55-year-old Spaniard takes over from Carlo Ancelotti, who departed the Bernabeu last week just 12 months after guiding the club to their 10th European Cup success.

Madrid-born Benitez has spent the past two seasons with Italian side Napoli, having previously enjoyed success at European level with a number of clubs.

After leading Valencia to UEFA Cup glory in 2004, the following year he moved to the Premier League and orchestrated Liverpool's Champions League victory at Istanbul in only his first season on Merseyside.

Two years later, he guided the Reds to another Champions League final and, in 2013, was interim boss at Chelsea when they won the Europa League.

At domestic level, he has won two La Liga titles with Valencia and an FA Cup at Anfield.

Benitez, Real's eighth coach in 10 years, is returning to Madrid for a third spell in a coaching role having previously been in charge of their youth side in 1986 and their 'B' team in the early 1990s.

In a brief statement, Real Madrid said: "Real Madrid will present today, Wednesday, June 3, Rafa Benitez as the new coach of the first team for the next three seasons."

Veratti linked to Real Madrid ~ Marca

If we can't get Pogba then Veratti is the next best thing, exactly the type of player we need; aggressive, hard-working, young, loves a physical battle and most important - a proper defensive midfielder.

Depending on how things go this transfer window we could line up like this come September

---------------De Gea----------------
Danilo---Varane---Sergio Ramos---Marcelo
---------------Veratti------------------
-------Modric-------------James-------
------Bale-------------------CR7------
---------------Benzema----------------

Kroos and Isco might have to suck salt :x

Na Real Madrid need to stop putting square pegs in round holes. They already playing Bale and James OOP, then Kroos failed this year as a defensive mid. This plus the fact that CR7 clearly doesn't like playing as a striker and i don't he will even make a proper striker

Isco was benched for the 2013/2014 season. He would have been benched this season if not for the injuries to Modric and James. I like Isco but put yourself in Perez's shoes...he wants his big money galacticos to play

i dont think khedira fit into real style of play. believe it or not I think Ronaldo is actually a problem at real Madrid. his attitude is bad for the team. di maria did a better job of controlling the flow of the game and obviously modric.

If Real Madrid had showed more confidence in him he would have made us better, certainly as our only natural defensive mid in place of an injured Modric and and underperforming Illaramendi.

And in other news....

La Sexta is reporting that Sergio Ramos is refusing a contract extension!!!

Reports say that the Spanish defender is not pleased with the contract extension offered to him.

WTF??!?

Apparently he wants more money. Add this to the fact he basically stated in public that he would have kept Ancelotti over Benitez were he in charge.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't extend the contract though but stranger things have happened.

Really hoping these are just rumours.

That "cone" pretty much won us la decima. A number you club can only dream to attain.

He's also the highest scoring defender in La Liga.

AND he is EUROPE'S top scoring defender over the past decade.

You know nothing.

Is a defender judged by his goalscoring capabilities or his defending capabilities???

In that case David Luiz is a beast too

Any player should be ultimately judged by how important he is to the team IMO

That is precisely the problem at Real, too many big money players with arsehole attitudes.
