Kerwin weighs concert for fans....

Rumours Machel may opt out Power too

Reigning Digicel International Groovy Soca Monarch Kerwin Du Bois will not be defending his title on Fantastic Friday. Du Bois said yesterday he would not be a part of this year’s competition, making him the first of the artistes to use new rule change announced by organisers Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the Performing Arts (CPF) to his benefit.
Speaking through his publicist Adanna Asson yesterday, Du Bois said he did not want to defend his title. He said he only entered the competition last year because his fans had requested that he do so. This year, however, Du Bois, who dethroned Machel Montano last year with his runaway hit Too Real, said he wanted to explore other avenues this year. “He wants to do something different and so he will be having an event at the Normandy on February 1 in order to give back to his fans,” Asson said.

Grammy award winning songwriter Angela Hunte, is exploring her proud Trinbagonian heritage on a new collaboration with non other than the Monk himself, Machel Montano.
Hunt, who penned and co-produced the wildly popular "Empire State of Mind" for Jay Z and Alicia Keys, is at it again with this vivacious, bass-driven track which demonstrates exactly how Soca lovers flatten any dance they partake in.
Co-written by Montano and Angela, and brought to life by an even more star-studded cast of Grammy winning producers, including DJ Buddha, Jerry Wonda, Gregor Salto and Tzvetin Todorov, "Party Done" is set to be the first single off of Hunte's upcoming solo project and will also feature on the Machel's 2015 album. Check it out:

Monk and Angela Hunte: Party done

Performed & Written by Angela Hunte & Machel Montano
Produced by DJ Buddha for Therapist Music, Gregory Salto & Tzvetin Todorov for G-Rex/Therapist Music and Jerry 'Wonda' Duplessis for Wonda Music
Additional instrumentation: Keys by Arden Altino for Wonda Music
Recorded by Lance Powell at Platinum Sound, NY, and Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions
Mixed by James Wisner at Platinum Sound
Mastered by Dave Kutch at The Mastering Palace, NY
Press Release Creative Writing by Mystie Thongs
Label: THERAPIST MUSIC (p) 2015
Management: TITLE 9 for Angela Hunte
Xtatik Ltd. / Dream Machine for Machel Montano

Toronto to Rotterdam to Belize to New York, a touchdown in the Cayman Islands, and finally all the way back to Trinidad and Tobago, the Monk Monté has in the last few months traveled everywhere cementing a truth the entire universe is at present psyched-up and ready to revel in. A truth, which has in fact been continually validated by the shining minds of the Trinbagonian Diaspora, like that of the brilliant singer/songwriter, Angela Hunte.

That is, when a Trinbagonian walks onto your stage, creates music for your fete, or DJs your rave, know this…De Party Done!

Written by Angela alongside Machel, this vivacious, bass-driven track commandingly demonstrates exactly how Soca lovers flatten any dance they partake in. Distinctive in its sound and melodies, it is also set to be the first single off of Ms. Hunte’s upcoming solo project as well as a hit release on the Road March King’s 2015 album.

Many may know Angela as the Grammy award winning songwriter, who penned and co-produced this generation’s New York anthem “Empire State of Mind” for Jay Z and Alicia Keys.

Here, she brings her proud Trinbagonian heritage in addition to her global chart-topping experience to this spine-tingling collaboration with the Monk. Already guaranteed to be a global smash, the track was enhanced even more by a star-studded cast of Grammy winning producers, including DJ Buddha, Jerry Wonda, Gregor Salto and Tzvetin Todorov.

After all these years and through the hard work of a multitude of sons and daughters, it has finally become our time to teach the world that when Trinidad and Tobago arrives all Party Done!

Nadia: Starter

Triumph Riddim

Performed by Nadia Batson, Written by Nadia Batson. Additional Vocals by JoJo. Co-Written by Kasey Phillips, Produced by Precision Productions. Mastered by Keron "Scratch Master" Hector.

Like sand skimming through our fingertips, this feting season is slipping past us more quickly than can almost be believed. All too soon the most euphoric week of any year will be here.

Spectacularly though, Precision Productions has distilled the intensity and frenzied delirium of this last-lap week to create the team's final riddim for the 2015 season.

Ready yourselves because it is finally time to raise hands and flags in "Triumph", as the spirits of Mas and Carnival are evoked to their peak essences driving our land to surrender to indescribable mirth.

Straight away Nadia Batson sets pure bacchanal into motion seizing the title of "Starter", opening this gateway to unadulterated fun. "Born Ready" to musically fuel the oncoming unforgettable memories, Kes The Band channels an endless supply of vibes, directly to listeners. Simultaneously, the Monk Monté says come "Play A Mas", and feel the sheer jubilance thrumming through the air guiding your every move. Destra Garcia wants to push it even further, directing everyone to "Throw Back" waistlines, minds, and attitudes to the golden age of feting, when all anyone required for a good time was a comfortable pair of sneakers. In the thick of all this, Kerwin Du Bois is determined to "Use It" before he misses his chance to freely pound that grand Savannah stage. With their original style of instrumentation Alternative Quartet clinches the riddim sealing in the lingering emotions, which awaken when Soca lovers reminisce about, that "Last Time”. Major Lazer, Ariana and Monk: All my love remix

We do not need words when we have music, and there can be no boundaries once there is love.

Living proof of this is readily seen in the creation and inspiring journey of “Soundbang”, the first collaborative effort between Major Lazer and Monk Monté. This hit served to formerly introduce Major Lazer to the Soca world at 2014’s Machel Monday, while it simultaneously became the wings that carried the hybrid of Soca and EDM to every corner of the globe.

After such success and much to the thrill of music lovers everywhere, these two ingenious forces are back together again, this time though, along with the voice of a Mega Star, who has been described as having the best female vocals in pop music today. In an amazing push forward for Soca, Machel Montano, joins Major Lazer and Ariana Grande on the remix for the song “All My Love”, which was originally featured on the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

Ariana’s astonishing vocal range, together with Machel’s passionate Caribbean vitality, alongside Major Lazer’s skilful and worldly touch, were all melded together to create an exquisite world sound. Beyond question this resulting track will ignite hearts and blaze new musical trails, setting the globe afire with love.

But look out though, because this is just the first of much more to come from the team of Major Lazer and the Monk, in fact up next Sean Paul unites with them in a smasher that will turn the whole music game on its ear.
