Ok guys . I need to know how to check if my phone is 3g capable. plz... I really wanted to check out this 4g thing . I got the text and they even called me for the feedback but all I getting is EDGE. The guy said he would send the settings to my phone but i didn't get them, I just got the text saying that i would receive the settings shortly. Can I manually set up the APN?? my phone is a SE XPERIA X10 Mini Pro, btw. Also, does anyone know if the service covers the Grande Area?? Any help would be appreciated, I really wanna see what the 4G would run like......

Cause real traffic after 8 too! :@

Woke up this morning and see 3G on my phone.

On corporate plan though so..

remember 3G just means ur handset it capable. U don't get any service unless u take a plan.

I don't know why that's so hard to comprehend. If you're seeing 3G/4G on your mobile handset, it simply means that your phone is capable of getting the speeds associated with the upgraded network. If you actually want to use it, you'll need to signup for the plans. Not because you're seeing 3G/4G on your phone means you can suddenly stream movies and watch youtube. It's the same in most markets.

^ check your phone specs on gsmarena.com. It'll tell you if it's 3G capable. If it is, keep your settings on automatic and the 2G & 3G option or GSM & WCDMA. Then scan for networks and select the 3G or 4G, whichever on you see, restart and call *400#. After you sign up, a pre-paid day pass is $25 for 200MB, just to test it, if you want. Dunno if you will get a free trial.

Did you try signing up for a plan? Check your network settings and make sure your phone is on automatic or the 2G/3G network setting.

you will not see a change in speeds unless a good bit of bmobile customers migrate or they capped the test speeds, And considering its been 2 hrs since most stores open you question seems a bit premature.

It all depends on when you break the contract. TSTT should be able to have anyone move from postpaid to prepaid within the last 3 months of their contract without incurring any penalties. Quite a few people are trying to experience this whole 3G/4G thing and are actually buying Digicel sim cards and plans this morning.

DIGICEL 3G. online...

Postby M_2NR » May 11th, 2012, 12:24 pm

Getting about 1-2mbit now. Was getting about 3-4mbit. Still not bad. In any case 3G/4G indoor coverage for me was crap anyway. Trial ends on the 15th for me.

I still undecided about what to do. Plus I don't know how this will be for my plan. (on a UWI CUG plan)

Bassmekanik u have any idea how they handling existing edge users? And like me on a CUG BIS plan?

If you have a 3G/4G compatible phone, you should be seeing either 3G/4G or H on your mobile phone, however, you'll be still be on 'EDGE' speeds. 2G only phones would remain on EDGE. Signup for a 4G plan and that's all there is to it.

Their plan is to lock existing postpaid customer (including corporate) into a further 2 year contract until they sort themselves out with a proper mobile 3G/4G service. There's nothing they can do right now to compete with their existing EDGE network. Lots of giveaways would be what they can do right now.

in case you didn't know the CUG has bundled stuff with edge. So in my case it's 500 SMS and unlimited edge plus free calls to those on the CUG. What I want to know is do I have to pay that price (with edge) plus the 4G price (200$ or whatever). That is sort of redundant. Paying for edge /and/ 4G no?

Nope. Movies and music streaming require more bandwidth than a 2G network can offer.
