not too shabby

Redman i've done many battery changes without using silicone, even on the ones that suggest
and nothing ever happens..... well unless you diving i'd say it'll still function properly....

but that's just my experience

If is a timex i assume is either a plastic or mineral face. I have a few timex i does use cus dey is take good jammin in d bush and sea.
Anyway, to clean use toothpaste.
Dont wet the watch, use the toothpaste and rub it in with a cloth, den wash it off. Does work rel bess for me.
Or use polishing compound (car polish). I have a timex expedition going on 6 yrs now and the face still looks like new, once a month I does hit it a lil compound polish and is clean up nicely.

Don't use silicone, just get a new rubber seal for your watch and have it tested.

If it's mineral crystal (glass) then even a good watch polish like Polywatch will not work, this works on acrylic or plastic finishes. If you are scratching the face within a week chances are it's plastic so you will be ok, but most likely the rest of the watch is plastic too so make sure you polish only the crystal and not the body.

If it was mineral or sapphire, you would have to replace the crystal.

Thx,

I got the silicone grease with a repair kit I bought ,it's very different to what we buy down here.
No adhesive qualities. I've reused the rubber seals after inspecting them. Non of them were damaged and there were no cuts or dry spots.
I was very careful when taking them out.
Thus far no leaks.

Where can I get them tested?
Thanks for the tip Triad

Karmody's does the test as far as they claim, but I've never actually seen them do it.

I re-use my seals also, but with the understanding that they can now leak. I don't go diving with any of my watches so a little splash here and there won't cause too much of an issue.

These days I prefer Solar or Automatic as you don't have to open the casebacks as often.

sonygoup, I cannot see anything from that photo, but at that price range of watch, I wouldn't waste money on Polywatch (about 8USD for a small tube) and I would accept the scratching.

Just wanted to make my contribution, recently got this watch for work after the pin in the first watch came out and got lost. Haven't gotten a replacement pic since (4 months)

There are other brands that aren't as intrusive. Used the KlearKare on a fossil black analog a couple years ago and haven't had a problem with scratches since.

Zagg makes the screen protectors for watches as well.
Though to me a little scratch here and there adds character to the watch, except for dress watches.
