we will just have to wait and see.

You remember the days when Nokia rule the world?

They had something going real nice with the N-Series Then it just crash AFTER iPhone came out.

I have a padner who bought the s3...so i tell him im going to buy the lumia 900, so he tells me dont buy that because the screen resolution is not as good as the s3. So i say well true the s3 has a higher pixel density but that not all there is to a phone. He is saying a hi res screen is what people want in a phone now bla bla. He is saying wait for the new windows os and see what it brings, which is not a bad idea. BUT he would only buy that phone because of screen durability, thats it.

Now my take on this, is that while android may be a a good platform, its real selling points are the gimmicks and thats what the proverbial trinidadian likes.
I have used most systems on the market currently, from s1,s2,notes,iphones (HAD 2) symbians, belles and i find myself not totally impressed with the android or ios.

Android layouts looks too cartoonish to me and the phones feel cheap in comparison to iphones or nokias with plain jane looks and and ios is really nice but their software is too restrictive out the box. Im going back with nokia once more and see how this new windows software works. I hear its really nice and some say it could be better. Its such a shame that nokia didnt push the meego platform more, but i guess they know what they were doing.
Im not one to run down the best of everything. Not having the highest pixel density screen on the market to me is not a big issue, once it looks good like an iphone 4s thats fine. Dont really need 1080p video, 720 can work. 8MP camera is good enough once it has auto-focus and good level of detail. Im a photographer so a phone camera is still a joke compared to a real dslr.
Any lumia 900 or even 800 user out there, who can shed some light on windows mango experience so far?

e but their software is too restrictive out the box.

I agree, my only grudge with iOS is the fact I can't do as I please without some sort of work around.

Android to mango is like chalk and cheese.. (can't comment on jellybean tho)

Fanboys on both iOS and android will shoot down the relative low specs of the lumia line (and other manufacturers) and they will shoot down the lack of apps

As a regular normal user, there is nothing an iOS or android device can do that my lumia can't do equally well or a lot of times better!

Plus the lumia 800 and 900 are the best looking phones out there...

Now if ure gonna buy a Lumia now... Well u have wee bit of a problem to deal with... MS announced wp8 will not be coming to current devices, that basically makes your brand new phone semi obsolete as soon as u buy it..

We will be getting some features of wp8 in an update called wp7.8 but nobody knows what functionality we get outside of the new (and supremely awesome) start screen.

But 8 won't drop till October or so, the lumia 800 is a sexy beast and it stands toe to toe with most high spec devices.

I'm typing his from my iPad and it's taken me like 5 mins to do eh... Geez... Shoulda used the lumia instead :D

^^actually now read through some of the comments on the lumia 800 on gsm arena, but this user put an interesting list of things that the lumia 800 doesn't do
