The only one that would function properly is the stl100-1

WRONG! The stl100-1 and stl100-3 work and are fully supported here the -3 has 4g

The -2 and -4 work here just without any data , that is gsm and edge work with those devices.

I think it's called picture lock..sorry if I'm wrong. Instead of using a password you slide a number to a specific area on a pic to unlock the phone. Go in security/password settings and you'll see the option

It's pretty weird that local carriers haven't released the Z30 to date

Z30 is an amazing device, had the Z10 then got the 30 right after its release, and since the new update the 'app gap' is now gone, didn't even notice the change in screen resolution. I can do literally everything on it if needed and am using the blackberry balance feature too, really handy not to have your company's IT restrictions affecting you. Combine all that with the 30+ hour battery life, it really is an all in one phone.

I still want to know how the Z30 wasn't made with atleast a Quad Core processor.

Optimized OS, really doesn't need it. Only purpose of having a quad core would be to impress ppl who shop by specs. Z10 and z30 runs lag free.

http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/03 ... t-quarter/

On Friday, BlackBerry announced its quarterly earnings. Compared to the previous quarter, the embattled Canadian handset maker seems to have slowed the bleeding. In just three months, it slashed its losses by a factor of 10.

In its fourth fiscal quarter ending March 1, 2014, BlackBerry sustained a net loss of $423 million, down from a net loss of $4.4 billion the previous quarter. That harsh third fiscal quarter loss was a driver behind a terrible fiscal 2014 year overall for Blackberry: the company lost $5.8 billion from March 1, 2013 to March 1, 2014.

"I am very pleased with our progress and execution in fiscal Q4 against the strategy we laid out three months ago. We have significantly streamlined operations, allowing us to reach our expense reduction target one quarter ahead of schedule," said John Chen, the company’s CEO, in a statement. "BlackBerry is on sounder financial footing today with a path to returning to growth and profitability."

Those recent changes included a streamlining of corporate structure, a management reshuffle, a sale of the company's Canadian real estate holdings, and a new partnership with Foxconn.

But Blackberry's troubles have even the Pentagon rethinking its relationship with the device that spawned the “Crackberry” moniker.

In November 2013, a key contract for mobile device management from the Defense Information Systems Agency—the US Department of Defense’s internal tech supplier of choice—went to BlackBerry competitor DMI a few months earlier. As the Pentagon moves forward with its Mobile Agenda—an effort to largely move from desktop computers to mobile devices—its technology leaders are looking farther afield to make the transition.

Chen told the New York Times that he’s not done cleaning house and instituting much-needed reforms.

“We were once a $20 billion company,” he said. “It’s not out of the question that we could go back and recapture old ground. That may sound a little funny to you right now, but you never know.”
