2 robbed in Hindu family's temple
A brother and sister were robbed on Friday while inside the personal Hindu temple at their Arima home.
According to the police, around 10:30 am, Isha Boodoosingh, 60 and Zaman Zhor, 49 of Jokhan Trace, Carapo, Arima were in the temple when four masked men jumped over the wall of their property.
The men, who were said to be about six feet tall and of African descent, pointed guns at the siblings and announced a robbery. They took three Samsung cellphones, $1,500 in cash, as well as Boodoosingh’s TT passport and US Visa.
The men left the compound through the front gate and escaped on foot. Enquires are continuing.
This incident occurred after the Carapo Hindu Temple was robbed in May and June, the first time being desecrated as the thieves cooked corned beef in a pot used to prepare vegetarian meals.

A manhunt has been ordered after a home invasion in Rio Claro in which a family was robbed and a minor was sexually assaulted.
The incident took place around 5:30am at the family's home, however, due to the sensitive nature of the report the address is being withheld.
Police were told members of the family were standing outside the house when a silver Nissan Tiida pulled up next to them.
Two masked men exited the vehicle.
They pulled out a gun and ordered the relatives into the home.
They then forced the family to lie on the ground, and demanded that the relatives had over their cash and valuables.
When the relatives told the suspects that there was nothing of value at the home, the suspect kicked the male relatives.
They then sexually assaulted the teenager before leaving the scene.
Police were told the thieves left with $50 in cash, a quantity of costume jewellery and a bag containing banking documents.
Officers of the Rio Claro CID responded. Inquiries continue, led by WPC Jagroop.
