North valsayn residents now have to drive an additional 2km more to get to valpark until the flyover opens then it can be as much as 3. From valpark to north valsayn is now almost an additional 4km.

Too late to do anything about that now... at least public servants would soon reach to work in POS faster... so they can spend more time eating breakfast and ole talking till lunch time...

Yeah.

Also I see that they have begun feasibility studies to remove all traffic lights from Curepe to Piarco

Why do a feasibility study to determine something that a child could tell you is needed? We don't have resources to build more than 1 flyover every decade.... grand bazaar interchange opened about 10 years ago. Just focus on building the one where it's most needed, which will be at the macoya lights after the one at curepe is finally completed.

CUREPE OVERPASS TO OPEN ON WEDNESDAY 29th APRIL 2020

In a few days, drivers and commuters will be saying goodbye to the traffic lights at the Curepe intersection, on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway. As, the Works and Transport Minister says the new overpass is set to open on Wednesday morning.

in a timing. those $$$ have to be used for social support now. but i think work from home should continue in the long term where possible as that did ease some traffic

The Curepe Interchange has been opened by Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan. Minister Sinanan was pleased the work was done within budget and on time.

interchange by UWI is a must, but a lot of money has to be spent on acquiring properties. Same applies to Macoya and Piarco

Interchange at Piarco is pointless...traffic build up subsidies going East by Macoya...and going West traffic starts by Blue Waters

drove through westbound a few times now
somebody will hit the concrete divider on the left to bamboo head on very soon unless the paint the lanes to be more biased to the right and use the spring loaded yellow poles for a good hundred feet before like eastbound passing aranguez

it is very easy to keep foot on pedal from curepe all the way through and come dangerously close to the barrier on the left to bamboo.

if ppl don't obey the posted speed limits on the new interchange, there will be alot of 'tank- slappers' into the concrete barriers...

UWI is so close to Curepe though I would assume the new interchange will help ease up traffic at UWI's lights. If I was west bound I would not line up in that filter lane no more which sometimes on mornings and evenings goes all the way down to maybe in line with Moonan. I would go to Curepe and turn and head back East.
(Assuming the Curepe traffic is pretty manageable which we only will only know when everybody is back out)
Similarly more people can head to SMR from all them backroads like Watts Street rather than head to UWI's.

Pasea or Macoya seem like the next best option.

that is a surety, psychologically drivers westbound will be mashing gas after passing uwi lights and even more under the overpass
by the time they reach valsayn open road is pure fyaz

could see accidents with cars flipping in front superpharm when idiots pull out of valsayn and not see a car coming down full speed

east to west route has a tight radius - 30kmph as limit painted on the road on new interchange....

hope cameras working there....would make for some interesting footage.

Only when school reopens and things are back to 'normal', then we could see if the interchange makes a difference
