Republic has plenty technical issues since the online banking revamp nobody ask for.
At present their credit card is hit and miss for certain online purchases, then some months ago they royally frig out a third party bank transfer that every CSR had a different status update for, until it was quietly resolved.

It jus magically worked it self out .... after 3 calls ...

I hate this country's customer service... apparently all it was is an error on their side to fix.

It's saying I have - x,xxx dollars when I should have xx,xxx. I called and the person told me it was a issue with the online aspect but he assured me that I have the money in my account.

In price smart the card said " not enough funds"...

Any other person getting this issue?

Hey in the online banking mobile app how do u add someone to be able to send a payment to them if they have an account in another bank? can't seem to find that option - if i select Transfer - 3rd party local bank account under Credit account it just says no accounts available.

You have to add the account and name etc first. you may have to use a computer and login via that option to create it though. What i am saying is the mobile app doesnt allow all those features as the web version.

Once you do that, it will become available on the mobile app to pay to.

No u can do it on the app but it's a bit hidden.
Transfer >>third party bank>>select your debit account first>>
Then under that you will see "Existing" and "Other"

Select "Other"

And "Insert Account Data" will come up click on it and fill the details of the 3rd party. And at the bottom of the page you can save it as pre-registered.

trying that option - under Beneficiary data, but what do they mean by Identification type and number and address? my ID and ID number & address? seems like a strange place to put that as under Beneficiary. all i want is to send a payment

Just fill out the form. That's a verification method that's the receiver is the correct person. When u click on it some options come up automatically passport, driver's ID, etc.

Maybe you should call your bank.

Postby redmanjp » July 21st, 2023, 3:14 pm

just got this email- it includes online transactions as well as point of sale

To facilitate greater access to your funds with your Republic Bank Visa debit card, the daily transaction limit for Point of Sale (POS) and E-Commerce transactions, cumulatively, has increased from TT$10,000 to TT$50,000. This means that transactions done at Point of Sale terminals and via E-Commerce, when added, can be as high as $50,000. For example, if a POS transaction is $10,000, then an E commerce transaction can be as high as $40,000 and vice versa.

Please note, the daily limit of TT$5,000 for ATM withdrawals remains unchanged.

With the increase of the daily transaction limit, we encourage you to sign up for online banking, if you do not already avail of this service, to ensure that you receive alerts every time your card is used at an ATM, Point of Sale or online.

So to anyone getting an alert like this

A debit of TTD 0.00 has been applied to your Republic Bank OneCard linked to account xxxxxxxxxx from xxxxxxxxxx

apparently its just the verification system the merchant is using checking that your card is valid, according to RBL's customer service hotline.

I've been using Republic Online Banking for a while, and I've run into an issue with their two-factor authentication. Initially, I was using my real phone number for 2FA, but I started getting a lot of spam calls and texts shortly after signing up. It became so bad that it was hard to determine which messages were legitimate and which were just spam. Anyone else has faced similar problems?

I'm not sure if it was related to using my number for 2FA or just a coincidence, but I started using temporary numbers, and the problem was gone. They're easy to set up and use for 2FA without exposing my real number to potential spam. Plus, it feels a bit more secure since I can change the temporary number if needed without much fuss. I use the numbers from https://anonymsms.com/. It's a free service, and their numbers are based on real SIMs.

What were the spam calls about?

Worked for me earlier today. Sometimes you have to resend the SMS and both comes thru at the same time.

Make sure your messaging app is updated then restart.
