Just did some races online against : psn: trini_gamer -triniboy
Was nice fun
Online interface needs to be a bit more streamlined.
I could not figure out how to send an invite (and I dont think that the feature is there)

But once we got into the lobby, the races were fun and with good competition.
Especially the snow rally :evilbat:
Sorry about the bumps in the snow...could not see where the hell you were through the spray

We need to organize some full grid 3ne2nr races  :fadein: :fadein: :D

Yamauchi on GT5’s Mechanical Damage, Updates, & More
Gran Turismo 5 November 30th, 2010 by Jordan

Kazunori Yamauchi has been fielding questions from fans on Twitter over the past few hours. The tweets are in Japanese, but with a little help from Google and medhi_san, we can get a pretty good idea of what he’s talking about. Here’s the highlights:

Flexible camera angles and “dynamic and wide-area lighting needs” are to blame for the sometimes blocky shadows. Yamauchi admits they are a problem and wants to improve them.
Yamauchi appears to consider the possibility of removing the in-game HUD (heads-up-display features) at some point in the future.
To unlock the Red Bull X1, you’ll need to complete the “Sebastian Vettel Challenge”, which appears at Level 30.
Online “lounge” functionality and other features will be added “one by one”.
Polyphony Digital continues to work on fully supporting the Logitech G25 and G27, though Yamauchi admits he would like a “new steering device soon”…
Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming “early December”.
As you may know, many players noticed that GT5’s face-tracking functionality only worked in Arcade mode. According to Yamauchi, it’s not available in GT mode due to memory issues with the PS3.
In-game rewards (such as the monetary prize in GT5 Prologue) for your performance in online events is something Polyphony Digital is considering, and may be implemented in a future update.
Gran Turismo 5’s official, 2-disc sound-track will be released soon.
Yamauchi wanted to implement a “free roam” gameplay mode in GT5, where players could drive around, respecting speed limits and obeying traffic laws, and even exit the car to walk around and explore the environment on foot.
The YouTube replay upload feature had to be pulled from the final version of the game because it took a very long time to render and it consumed too much memory. Yamauchi is still considering it, however.
As always, it is refreshing and exciting to see Yamauchi’s interactions with fans via Twitter. Let’s hope the medium continues to be a valuable open line into Polyphony Digital as GT5 to evolves!

there would be no need to offer a replacement - the cool thing about the PS3 is that they can now do updates for users to download and install - I'm sure you've already done the 1.01 and the 1.02 updates already

shadow, brakes, judder, addition of premium cars, addition of tracks, added abilities etc can come in future updates and patches.

The 1.02 update/patch now allows for more online connections which bogged down 1.01

A steering-wheel-and-pedal setup for your PS3 starts at around $50, but you'll spend at least double that to get into the good stuff. HKS has teamed with InterWorks on a game controller solution that stays at the $50 mark but could work just as well as a wheel while being a little less intrusive.

The hot-coal red Hipermax III replaces the analog joysticks with a thumb wheel on the left side and throttle and brake buttons on the right side. The wheel has center stripe to aid steering, and the precise inputs of the throttle and brake controls are registered in the digital readout in the center of the controller. For the moment this is PS3-only, and while HKS hasn't released a price, it's pegged to come under $55.

^ is not lvl 18...more like 14 but i only really did about 9-10hrs of game play between last night and today.

only have the super lic. to get. finished most of the special events, and some of beginner. have not really bought any cars, just tryin to gather the lics. and make a $1m. then i'll start buyin.

will only buy as needed to finish the game and then is to buy and tune.

the game feels more GT3 and upgrade GT4 in feel....graphics are super cool and love the car list. still waiting to see if some more older cars are in the game (1st gen, MKII escort).

will post as i go.
