got one from pricesmart about 1.5 yrs ago to build a kitchen island. was about 400 i think. used gypsum screws (probably 1000) alone (no glue). since that i used it for many things diy. like concrete boxing, other small cabinets etc.
important to note that this is not a corded drill so torque will be limited. works great on ply and other softer materials just dont expect to drill 1/4" steel  . i also hate that i can never tell how much battery power is left and all of a sudden its dead. average battery life between charges was good and it doesnt seem to lose charge between uses. i probably use mine once every quarter and i just squeeze trigger and go. will definitely advise to get a spare battery if you can (just for convenience). was considering buying the combo deal at pricesmart since that has 2 batteries with the 4 tools.

I know some of those rice shops used to sell a metal sheet for men to make automobile grill with but it was more hexagonal instead of circular wrt the holes.

if ur not gonna weld it and just bolt it onto something ...you could look into getting angle aluminum, way easier to drill and use than steel
the company "Lotec" sells all types of material and by just the amount you want

already have a lincoln ac 225 for thicker stuff. why do u guys need dc???
i know i was not specific before; have a small auto project to do and i know that machine would melt that metal instantly so i looking for something to do the thinner stuff.

It is a light duty/hobby machine so as X said, don't expect much out of it. Most of them have a 10% duty cycle or less and hit thermal protection quite easily.

If you do understand the limitations of the machine, however, with careful use, you can probably get it to do what you want.

DC on the stick welder will not burn as much as the AC and gives a smoother bead.

dc on stick welder has more options for different types of rods
(not that it makes much diff for regular fabricating)
