Guys, should I update my wife's lumia 800, I am seeing a lot of negative reviews across the internet concerning the last update, 7.8 I believe, has anyone done it and are you experiencing any sound quality issues?

Greetings all,
Wish I had stumbled upon this thread earlier...
only met a handful of WP users in my 18mths with a Dell Venue Pro (SD card swapped for 32GB).

Can anyone give feedback on the podcast experience on WP8 / 7.8 ?
Anything like Zune? Any good 3rd party podcast apps?

Microsoft really upset me last year when it said that users outside the US having podcast access on Zune was a glitch that would be addressed in later releases.
This has been the dealbreaker in considering 7.8 or a new handset
(was thinking Samsung Ativ S or Lumia 820 for SD expansion slots)

After being tired of android always crashing. So many issues even with Jellybean I decided to switch to windows phone.

Bought a Phone 7.5 samsung focus S on Amazon. After using one from a co worker I was really impressed with the buttery smooth performance. Its still 10 times smoother than jellybean.

It lacks some important functions but they are functions I can live without.

Android bugs is something I just can't live with. Besides all I want from it is to just work so I can use it for internet browsing and watts app. My S2 just could not do that, heck the WIFI is gone completely now. All the custom roms are pretty much useless also, keyboard always crashing etc you name it.

Somehow a windows 7 focus S with single core CPU and 512MB RAM works way faster than my S2 i9100 with 1GB ram and Dual core.

I am a huge fan of the Samsung Ativ S phone 8

Man that phone looks amazing.
Its about same hardware as S3 but outer shell looks better and the chrome paint even better.

I also understand that since Android is Linux and java it takes a lot more power to run the same software hence why windows phones runs so much smoother than android with far inferior hardware.

I test both a S3 and the Focus S. Focus is ancient hardware compared to S3 yet somehow it runs way smoother and better.

The only problem is windows market lacks a lot of good apps. It just so far behind, hopefully it start picking up soon. I just can't stand android anymore I can't believe how much bugs this platform has and don't talk about putting in custom ROMS when you root. Even worst!!

It just lags hard even if you put jellybean and it works smooth for a lil while once you load up a few things you can see how it lags again. windows is not like this, but it needs better support.
Microsoft just isn't doing enough.

windows system is following the same principle as iOS...smooth fast, easy to use, and restrictive compared to android.
