Sami Khedira is in the final stages of his recovery after he underwent a successful operation on the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments of his right knee on 16 November. After an initial period in Augsburg and Ciudad Real Madrid, the Madrid midfielder is continuing his rehabilitation, now in southern Sicily. "I feel more like a footballer now, because being here, on a football field, is like being home again. I can sense that I'm reaching the end of it, I'm close to getting back to the team and that motivates me to keep fighting", he admitted.
"It was tough at the beginning. I think the first four or five weeks were the most difficult. I was on crutches and couldn't walk... I was very limited. In recent weeks I've been training more comfortably on my knee. I'm really happy to be back on the turf, with the ball and running around outside. I have more confidence in my knee now, and I also feel more secure. I'm well".
am so truly worried about this match, it's not only the performance of the guys but I believe there is some hidden internal conflict going on....Marcelo is injured and not sure how long he'll be out for (as if we didn't have enough injuries).... I always prefer having the away match first but since that's not the case....we just need to make the best out of the home advantage....although lately that hasn't meant much....
Carlo stated that r7 should be fine, he was taken off as a precaution as it's the same nagging knee injury I believe.... di Maria on the other hand is suffering from Gastro
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will sit out Saturday's trip to Real Sociedad, but believes his star man will be firing on all cylinders for the clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
"We have options," he added. "Alvaro Morata could play, we could change Isco's position or move the other forwards around.
"Gareth Bale is playing well, consistently. He could change positions with Cristiano missing."
playing away to Sociedad has always been an immense challenge and with so many injuries on our team it's even a greater source of worry....we can't afford any slip-ups
