went mayaro for the weekend, real hard times yes........tried surf fishing, but the sea was real dirty.....there was a little river close to where i stayed, and i threw a line there, i caught a bashine about 10-11 inches, and a paag, about same length, everything else was small fishes. nothing to talk bout...........walked along the beach and say a guy who caught a yellow cavali, and further down a guy was trying to catch a spotted black manta ray.......other than that........real salt business........

question guys, wanna get small rod and reel to start using, about 7-9 ft, nothing too fancy, just basically to get the hang of fishing with a rod. any recommendations to a place?

ok...wat u going to do set the rod or hold it? if u wanna hold it i wud advise u to get a one piece around 8ft like a ugly stick, penn or shimano...u want one strong but not too stiff...reel will be of the higher sizes bcuz u wud need the extra line if u stick something of gd size...dont need more than 30lb line and u on....

Fresh Shrimp mang! and don't forget your hooksize, i used all the way from size 4 to size 6/8 really small hooks. You can throw out summn big on another line for some bigger game if you lucky.
