Laventille West MP warns constituents to be vigilant

Laventille West MP Nileung Hypolite has warned his constituents to be wary during the lead up to this year’s eagerly anticipated general elections.

He made the call at the National Evangelical Spiritual Baptist Faith Thanksgiving and Cultural event at St John’s Ambulance Hall yesterday.

Hypolite, who was not chosen by the PNM screening committee to again represent his constituency advised Laventillians to “be wise, to open your eyes.”

When asked by reporters to explain his statements, Hypolite said he was just “speaking” to the people.

He said, “Elections are here and they need to open their eyes and their minds. It’s an election period many people will come to the people with many different gifts.”

“Not everything that is presented to you is gold.”
