People are saying that the ban is harsh but they really had no choice. They have to deal harshly with these instances of match fixing if they expect the IPL to maintain its credibility. But the more you watch these things...IPL, FIFA World Cup or whatever...one can't help but think these things are rigged. Fellas like Sreesanth are probably handsomely paid scapegoats. Man must be set for life for all we know.

Wonder what would happen if they investigated the regional tournament? Many are still wondering why Sarwan interfered with a working formula and promoted Narine up the Amazon Warriors' batting order in the final...:?

^No, I mean Narine.

Though both men were promoted up the order, Ramdin is still considered a 'batsman'. So you could have understood the gamble even if it was unwise because of his poor form.

However Narine's promotion made absolutely no sense.

^^ Like u 4get when Sammy promoted Narine up d order to number 6 in the last T20 vs Pakistan (July 28th) and Narine went on to make 28 from 16 balls (the second highest score that day), he came in before big hitters like Pollard, Sammy and Barnwell.
Plus Sarwan obviously had no confidence in himself!

look like plenty people jumping in the mix for the next ttcb elections
them old fogies in for serious competition, will be interesting to see how they resist the new blood.

the millions the ttcb collecting via IPL payments must have something to do with this

Apples and Oranges pardner.

In the Pakistan series, the W.I. had already gotten walloped in the ODIs and had lost the first of the T20s. Narine being promoted (or rather Pollard being demoted, which is probably what the thinking was) was just an attempt to try something new because clearly their system wasn't working. Don't forget he (Narine) made a duck in the preceding T20, not so? And more significantly, W.I. still lost.

Contrast that with the Amazon Warriors in the CPL. In the case of the final, the Warriors went into that match the dominant team in the tournament. Everything was working for them. There was no need to experiment with the batting line up, far less to push a 'tailender' up the order. That decision defies logic.

T&T vs Brisbane Heat starts at 6:30 in the morning. Looks like T&T has the edge:
