Ok so not a BlackBerry 10 device then, I can recommend the 9850 since I had one before I had the Z10

No BB10 for Playbook.

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/06/ ... after-all/

BlackBerry reported its first-quarter earnings today, and the news for the first full quarter of BlackBerry 10 availability isn't as good as the company might have hoped. Though the company's revenue is up—$3.1 billion, 15 percent higher than the previous quarter—it has still managed to post a loss of $84 million.

More worrisome for the company is that, of the 6.8 million smartphones it shipped during the quarter, only 2.7 million of those were handsets running the new BlackBerry 10 operating system. Both of the phones released so far—the Z10 and the Q10—have been more expensive, high-end models, while phones targeted at the mid-range market are supposedly coming later this year. However, those numbers are still way down from both the first quarter of 2012 (13.2 million phones shipped) or the previous quarter (11.1 million), suggesting that BlackBerry 10 isn't doing much to boost overall demand for the company's hardware.

The Verge also reports that the company won't be shipping a BlackBerry 10 update for its PlayBook tablet despite having promised to do so back in January at the BlackBerry 10 launch event. This is perhaps unsurprising given that the company shipped only 100,000 of them in the quarter. The hardware is also getting long in the tooth (it's over two years old at this point). It still doesn't look great for your company if you can't keep the promises you make to your customers, though.

BB10 and phones are failing because of no real plan.

anyone with 9900 had this issue:

got a keyboard for mines the other day, put it on, worked, phone finally came back alive(It was red lighting for the past weeks without a keyboard)

After 1 day of usage, it froze last night and i just removed the battery(and the worst part is, i have to put a piece of paper behind the battery by terminals, for some reason an angle makes it work properly) Upon putting it back, nothing is coming on. Sometimes i get red light, some times i dont. I mostly get a screen with a battery and red X on it. The battery works fine on another 9900, and another battery still does not work on this phone.

Anyone?

http://www.knowyourmobile.com/blackberr ... blackberry

Strong BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 sales seem to have had no affect on BlackBerry's shares with the latest results looking grim

BlackBerry has posted its quarterly results with a 28 percent loss in share value.

Smartphone sales were up 13 percent on the last quarter, thanks to the launch of the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 though, so it's not all bad news for the company formerly known as RIM, but overall deliveries were down due to its older line of BlackBerry devices failing to keep up the pace.

Reuters says, 'BlackBerry reported a loss from continuing operations of $67 million, or 13 cents a share, on revenue of $3.1 billion. Earnings were also reduced about 10 cents a share due to Venezuelan currency restrictions.'

Analyst Brian Colello commented, 'We haven't received the BlackBerry 10 unit numbers yet, but certainly it doesn't bode well for the initial BlackBerry 10 launch, particularly the Z10. But even the outlook for a Q2 loss doesn't bode well for the Q10 either.'

Two weeks ago, we reported sales of the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 had smashed analyst estimates, but even with positive sale figures, BlackBerry hasn't managed to reaffirm its place in the smartphone market.

Cant get it to come on except red light.

I think i see my problem, one of the battery terminal connector is not making contact on the board.

not really, you would find that foreign phones last much longer and take more lix than local phones

i using a at&t bold 9700 for 4 years and still using it

fall down dozens of times, get washed once, does talk on it when it raining etc

also have to consider that Trinidad phones are cheaper prepaid from bmobile/digicel, than US phones are prepaid.

i guess theres no way to say for sure but from experience of hundreds of phones, foreign phones last much longer and take more lix.

really what's your source? because i have met two tstt reps currently testing the 10.1 and 10.2 on their Z10 devices

don't let the fanboyism / hate of crackberry members get the better of you

besides, the only difference with 10.1 for me is there is HDR camera mode, which i don't use anyway

waze worked for me before the 10.1 leak, so it's no bother

OS10 is entirely new to both service providers, hence why they are taking long to roll out, not to mention many other carriers globally still haven't pushed out a new OS yet

so what's the problem?

Guys, I'm using a Bold 9790 right now and the application icons have no text beneath them. Is this normal? And can it be changed?

10.1 includes improvements to the Android runtime, which is why sone apps like Skype are only available on 10.1

Cool, keep up the good work man. I think the mobile experience is a lot improved when Trinis continue to develop apps. Would be cool if we could have banks and other institutions pushing into the app game.

True dat! But before the banks even bother to bring out mobile apps, they need to fix their horrible online banking sites. (I'm looking at you Republic!).
