Quite possibly, the process may have been rife with cronyism and possibly extortion.

Kamla crying about gerrymandering in Sando West. They lost by 3000 in 2020 and 4000 in 2015. Two districts changing anything?

That's all Kamla good at - pandering to her masses! Nothing productive or nation-building.

Just because Kamla said it doesn't mean that pnm gerrymandering is not true.

The UNC faithful would prefer to believe that:
UNC didn't know about the extra voting hour EBC organised in 2015
The EBC head is related to Maxie Cuffie or some other PNM official
The fact that a constituency map coloured by party is mostly yellow therefore it is a conspiracy why UNC doesn't win
The PNM and EBC meet in dark smokey rooms to gerrymander the election boundaries.

The EBC is always be the scapegoat and not UNC leadership decisions. 5 MPs are bravely pushing against that narrative and I wait to see if the supporters would agree with the truth or they will continue to see their membership fees go down the drain in legal fees and paying legal fees to the PNM to the tune of millions yet wonder where PNM get money to build Balisier house.
https://www.guardian.co.tt/news/alrawi- ... 165e60ca74

According to the law the EBC are to make constituencies of 25,000 +/- a certain percentage from West to East. As ppl move around obviously the boundaries will have to move.

PEA will fix it.
Btw, Kamla still want them? But didn't PEA say PNM and UNC are the same? Are there any influencers to clarify?

TBH if I was a strategist for the UNC I would be in here and taking points from Habit7's posts.
Inconvenient truths are really the only way for them to move foward.

Well they don't want to move anywhere. We already figured it out on this thread long time that they're happy where they are. They only need a strategist to make it look like they are concerned about thinking about hoping about wishing about doing something.

And you perfectly illustrate my point. David Lee wrote the EBC demanding an extra hour because they saw the need https://archives.newsday.co.tt/2015/09/ ... open-late/

But when they lost, to take away blame for the leader, they made a big fuss about the extra hour which the votes casted in this period were less than the margins of victory.

Since 2015, EBC is the scapegoat of UNC underperformance.

UNC will lose under Kamla
Dr Devant Maharaj former UNC cabinet member (2010-2015)

MEMBER of Parliament Dinesh Rambally was unknown before he became a member of Parliament for the United National Congress (UNC), and after 2025, when he is not selected as a member of Parliament, he will return to his familiar abode of anonymity.

Gifted a safe seat thanks to the urging of the Maha Sabha, this unknown lawyer within the ranks of the UNC has been nondescript in his contributions to the Parliament and his representation as a member of Parliament.

As his swan song, MP Rambally has joined the many who have gone before, with similar statements concerning the leadership of Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

When Rambally was selected in 2015 as a member of Parliament, he had no issue with Anil Roberts being selected as a senator, or with Ravi Ratiram a member of Parliament, or the litany of unsuitable persons selected by Persad-Bissessar to national positions.

Hiding behind the principle of collective responsibility, Rambally was silent, but thankfully, now he has seen the light of day and spoken out, adding his voice to the same sentiment made in the past by Ganga Singh, Fuad Khan, Ramona Ramdial, Jack Warner and myself.

Rambally however is correct on every count in his analysis of the chances of the UNC winning the next general election under the stewardship of Persad-Bissessar.

The issue of the party image, erosion of institutions of the party, trampling of the UNC’s constitution, trivialising major national issues, and the failure to present real alternative solutions to crime raised by Rambally are some of the deficiencies the UNC faces.

Persad-Bissessar, unlike any other leader of the UNC or its previous incarnations (ULF/DLP), has granular control over every aspect of the party, from the party group executive to the members of Parliament office staff. This level of control means that the deck is stacked against any form of real democracy or representation within the UNC, or even the opportunity to have a forum for discussion of divergent ideas.

It can be predicted, like all others who have made challenges to the Persad-Bissessar-led UNC, Rambally will be ignored and attacked as a PNM (People’s National Movement) operative and be blamed, along with others like Rushton Paray, for the UNC losing the next general election.

The weaponising of gender will continue as yet another male attacks the leadership decision of a female leader, and the rewarding of blind, incompetent loyalists will be manifested in the selection of UNC candidates for the next general election.

The sham that is the institution of the UNC is epitomised by the failure of the political leader to file her nomination papers at the party headquarters, following a media release that attempted to make an insignificant event into another opportunity to praise the leader.

Rambally’s awakening serves as a warning: the faithful must liberate themselves from the cult of personality that enslaves them to Persad-Bissessar’s whims. The UNC’s downfall is imminent, with the continued leadership of Persad-Bissessar.
