With Senate control they can appoint SCOTUS judges. Thomas and Alito are 76 and 74 and if they do replace them Trump would have gotten to pick 5 of 9 SC justices.

Not sure how true it is given some States still counting but I saw one American political commentator say nationally no Red counties flipped blue but multiple Blue counties including many Minority Majority ones flipped from Blue to Red.

I think that the problem was essentially there was no process. After they finally admitted Joe's brain is pudding she was annointed. Made it two election cycles she faced no Primaries as she pulled out of the 2020 one before Iowa.
Dean Phillips the D rep from Mn 3RD was the only person with enough chutzpah to go up in open Primaries earlier this year. A proper field in the Dem primaries could have possibly gave the party a chance and selecting a competitive candidate as the Primaries are themselves a proving ground.

This is a massive massive win for the republicans, 312 electoral votes, 4% up in popular vote (second time a GOP candidate has done that in 20 years, the other was Bush after 9/11), they turned so many counties red.
