Does anyone know if the fenced-off area just after Rienzi Complex on the opposite side of the main road is supposed to be a retention pond? If this is so i certainly recommend the authorities get rid of that embarassment urgently and ship out the contractor.I really hope this is not so.I have also noticed some effort to install proper storm drains for the swimming pools opposite pastor cuffies' residence. We are in some real serious trouble!

epic rain in chaguanas just now and minor street and flash flooding all over the place.
Strange there was flood in Lange Park yet there was no flood in Endeavour which is usually the flood prone area.

more than 1 foot of water on chaguanas main road in some parts between the hours of 2-3 this afternoon....pockets of water on the southern main road between chase village and st. mary's where the road dips low...

real traffic, took from 2-4 to reach from chaguanas to chase village, traffic even worse on the southbound lane of the highway from what i saw

dropped him off, doubled back to chaguanas, it seemes that the water has receeded now...

i was trying to drop someone home who heard that he got flooded out (thank god i drivin a van), couldn't even reach the street he was living, cars parked waiting for the water to go down...

Public Advisory
Wednesday September 15, 2010 – 12:12 p.m.

Afternoon showers and thundershowers expected over both islands
In its most recent Information Bulletin, the TT Meteorological Services has advised that there is the strong possibility that both islands can experience afternoon showers and thundershowers which can be heavy and intense. More particularly, parts of western Trinidad and other local districts can also experience heavy downpour.

In addition to the rainfall, gusty winds and street/flash flooding can also occur in areas that experience heavy rainfall.

The ODPM, as the coordinator and manager of emergencies has put the first responder agencies (TT Fire Service, TT Defence Force and the municipal corporations) on alert so that immediate assistance can be rendered if required. The ODPM reminds all citizens that if they have been adversely affected by this inclement weather, they must contact their municipal corporation or 800 6376.

We reiterate the following:-
• Continue to be extra vigilant and cautious during this season
• Elevate valuables and place important documents in sealed containers or bags
• Secure items around your home that can become missiles during strong winds
• Do not walk / drive through flood waters
• Be cautious when walking / driving along hillsides

The ODPM continues to reiterate that Trinidad and Tobago is still actively in the hurricane season; therefore citizens must continue to plan and prepare in order to safeguard life, property, community and country.

Trinidad and Tobago is NOT currently under any Tropical Storm threat, Watch or Warning.
