Hey guys, my 8520 started acting up recently and I can't seem to figure out why. When my WiFi is disabled and it's using EDGE alone, the phone would heat up a lot and the battery just drains like crazy and the phone becomes very unresponsive...I've tried another battery, removing my SD card (Was a 32gb so figured it might be causing it), reloading the OS...I dunno what else to do :\

Please don't say buy a new phone LOL Cause I know it's a POS. It's my secondary phone, I keep it solely for BBM and whatnot.

sorry get a new phone them bb's like to give problems... and is too much headache to go figure out what wrong then get parts etc... save yourself the time and effort

Sounds like a software bug if conditions change when wifi is enabled/disabled, first thing to try is reload the OS using desktop manager (backup first)

heat suggests a hardware problem... the OS was reloaded so it's not that

What apps do you have loaded on it? its a longshot but delete em and see if it helps.... stuff like foursquare can do a number on those lower end devices

Thanks for the replies guys...I kinda low on cash because I'm gonna buy the S4 soon, and this bugs me cause it works great when the wifi is connected. I had JSL 8.0 hybrid loaded on it before and I went back stock last night..took off wifi and left it over night, woke up on low battery.

However I've been using it all day, BBM music FB etc connected to wifi and its been fine. Going out later so I'll see again and well..I guess time's up for it if it continues.

BBM, FB, Twitter, whatsapp and well app world. Made sure not to load anything irregular on it.
