The HK sold out at the south branch last I heard. Not sure if any other branch stocks it.

^ finally!
too often people disregard picture quality for bells and whistles.

Dolby Vision is effectively HDR or High Dynamic Range which has become popular in photography, but now it's for video.

http://www.cnet.com/news/high-dynamic-r ... nd-beyond/

Image

"High dynamic range
Expanding contrast ratio, or the dynamic range of the TV, is vital in creating a realistic image. A low-contrast image looks washed out and flat; a high-contrast image looks 3D (even if it's 2D) with depth and realism. "

"Generally speaking, LCDs (LED included) have a native contrast ratio of between 2,000 and 4,000, plasma TV's can be two to three times that, and OLED is effectively infinite because the blacks are as close to no light as possible."

Hmmm. But the trick will be getting video that doesn't seem "hyperrealistic“ like some hdr shots seem to be. How much an improvement will this be over a well calibrated video image?

the screen can display a wider gamut / higher dynamic range, so it will be better.

Highly reccomend the Amazon Fire TV & game controller.
Its also so far the only device from which I can stream Prime instant video without buffering/hiccup issues.
All the basics work very well, plus you can sideload apps
Plex also works very well with it.
Best part, I installed a snes and nes emulator, and having some nostalgic fun!
One slight complaint.. While I can get excellent bitrates on my plex streaming, I cant seem to get dolby 5.1 across. :(

Sweet unit though and the network features are a big plus for music lovers.

Amazon titles don't play with unblock us. It still says not available in your region. No Downton Abbey :(

Guys forgive my ignorance but what is the name of the store mentioned earlier that sells quality AV receivers?

I think Duane or Pioneer mentioned it.

Thanks
