I getting a 8 gallon PUMA compressor for about $3000 and a Northstar 8 gallon for nearly $2400.Both are new, have the same cfm,hp and psi rating.Which would you recommend and why?Are they overpriced? Also which is better between an oil or oil-less?

Oil is better and is rated as continuous run. Longer life span with this.

Oil less is cheaper, lighter but shorter life span and have a shorter duty cycle.

Both noisy.

Correct. Seems expensive for just an 8 Gal but those are common prices locally.

I have a Puma 60 Gal going on 4 years now in a garage and no issues with daily use. Different class, i know, but the brand, at least, has been trouble free.

115v welders do have their place. Shock hazards are lessened with 115 volts and if you're plugged into a GFCI, you're pretty safe. That said, you'll get a much more versatile welder by going to 230v.

bought mines debe , next door to Chinese dragon 2 years ago maybe?
paid 2k, 20gallon 110v, 2hp.

got a air hose 50ft long, impact wrench and a tire chuck. I did some painting with it mostly, 20gallon is enough but the downfall is a good airhose, People does use pvc chit and the ID is 1/4 if so much, cant do squat besides painting with a spray gun. I in that boat, but i working on some other stuff right now.

Trinidad hose have the best deals right now. 25ft 3/8 for 230$ and 25ft 1/2 for 300$

If you could make a 5k, Allied has a lovely IR shopmate, Huge pump, 110v 20gallon, 100 percent duty cycle i believe.
Im thinking about a investment like this, mainly due to 110v, but Pricemart has a decent one, a 60gallon , seems like a decent bet for the price. Its around 5k as well. I know a guy has one of these and its a great buy. 220v tho.

air is a thing more is always better But electric is the future especially for DIY guys.

WTF i definately remembered the price being 5400 or 5600$. I wanted to purchase it, i even posted up my compressor for sale already in hopes of buying it.

BTW
anyone know any deals on the m18 impacts?
Im checking around so far and getting the 1/2 model for 3700 from SSL, kit comes with two 4.0 batteries. L&G is almost the same price.

Looking to purchase a 16" chainsaw for occasional tree trimming. Just light use. Where in South are the best places to check and what price range am I looking at? What are the best brands too?

First decide if you want gasoline, corded or cordless. For occasional use, electric works with the fewest headaches.

If you're trimming above shoulder height, consider a pole saw.

Also consider the chain tooth size and not just the bar length. I have owned chains with 3/16-inch, 5/32-inch and 7/32-inch teeth. All have their uses.

Consider where you will get parts and service, too. Perhaps use the same shop that you get your other 2 stroke engine parts and service from.

In gasoline chainsaws, I've owned Husqvarna, Stihl, Poulan, Homelite, and Echo and prefer the Swedish brands. But there are also others that work very well from what I've read. In electric, just about everbody that makes a drill also makes a chainsaw, including Stihl.

Expect to pay less than $1000 for electric to more than $3000 for a gasoline Stihl.

I'm looking for a well made, telescoping pole that is 18 feet or longer. Has anyone seen any around?
